Agreed. If we were to invest £100M into our midfield, to improve it, add younger but quality legs, make it more creative and capable of scoring more goals, that would soften the blow of losing Mo.Originally posted by RedAndWhite View Post
Given our record in the transfer market in recent times I would see us investing it in a way that would help the club grow. I could live with that.

Do Bayern really pay more than us? And would he like to go play there, or to the bull**** French league? Barca also can't seem to be able to afford craziness right now, so it's either City or Real Madrid.
I'm just happy to see that I no longer care as much as I did previously with Torres, Suarez, Coutinho... not because of Salah, just because it's all starting to seem so stupid and insignificant compared to what else is happening.

In reality we have replaced him in Diaz; its how we function.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostIf he's wanting close to 500k a week then at his age we'd have to say thank you, absolute legend but sadly goodbye. He's not bigger than the club and I still think he wouldn't get the numbers he does here anywhere else in Europe. He's an absolute one off but I'd be confident we could replace him and still challenge, provided klopp stays for a bit.
The only positive to him leaving is that it would open up the opportunity to sign Bellingham with the money

Highest paid player is Lewandowski on @£330K a week. Seems to be a few more near that level but sub 300K. From that I cannot see them going 4/500K which is why I left them from my post above about being both able AND willing.Originally posted by Fuzzy View PostDo Bayern really pay more than us? Didn’t Sane get huge money and Conan also recently - this has caused issues with Lewa, Goretzka, Kimmich etc who are below thatOriginally posted by RedAndWhite View PostHighest paid player is Lewandowski on @£330K a week. If Salah is making significantly more than everyone else will that impact squad harmony

I know Mo's agent has to do what is best for Mo (and for his own pocket) but at some point, if we get close to crunch time and Mo sees that the club will not budge, if he really wants to stay and play, he can always tell Remy Abass to just sign the damn thing. And if he wants to go somewhere else where they will pay obscene cash (cos that's all it can come down to now, surely, it's not like we are a club going nowhere?) then such is life and we move on.

So who would you say has the upper hand right now?
Before Christmas fans and pundits alike were saying Mo can name his price, regardless of how high. Fans were saying FSG should sell up if they can't meet his demands. A few months later, Diaz enters the equation, Mane's form probably overtakes or matches Mo's, Chelsea situation highlights that there aren't many alternative owners out there that would be suitable and as I previously mentioned, not many viable alternatives for Mo really.
It's quite fascinating really and building into a bit of a perfect storm for the owners, but I'm backing Mo to finish the season on fire and just hope that compromise can be found. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Or Newcastle

It's all still cryptic so Mo could deny any wrong doing.Originally posted by fabinho View PostSo is Mo happy with his agent mocking Klopp like that, if that is what it was?
These guys very rarely have the balls to say things without it being cryptic. Mo needs to have a word really as this doesn't reflect well on him either.
Mo can exist without his agent, the same in reverse can't be said and so this leech is going to bleed it for all he can. Ultimately this is only about money for him and if he could get Mo 500k to play out his days in L.A then he would.
More fool Mo for appointing someone who isn't appreciating his legacy as a player. If he represented lots of players you could forgive it but I was under the impression that Mo and him are friends
