I may be being reactionary, but Id rather take the cash for him now and say goodbye. All he can do is cut inside. If he is not using his pace effectively, he loses possesion. I dont think he is going to improve into his 30s. He wont sign a new contract and I dont think he is worth the amount he wants going into his 30s. He is no Lionel Messi when dropping deep.

We need to rebuild our forward line, and desperately need a new false 9 to to link our play. We could really do with the cash,as we also need a couple of top midfielders and a back up right back if we want to top City.

Been a great season to me regardless and we’re the best team in world football. Could have been better but the consistency we’ve shown was exceptional, and even today we’ve turned up and played.

Later on yes, but we were spent by then. Early doors he missed the chance to pass numerous times while he tried to get it on to his left and cut inside. Same old, same old from recent performances. Don't even think they doubled up on him so his hogging the ball didn't free anyone else up.

Firmino Salah and Mane are all going into their 30s, and pace is a key component for two of them, the other being way off his best for a while. We need to start the process (Although Diaz is probably the first step). Mane and Salah only have a year left anyway.

He's a product of our system. Klopp is the most important part of it, no individual player. If he goes, we'll get someone else in like Diaz that becomes world class

Five months is a long dip in form. He still tries the twists and turns and flicks and curlers into the corner, he just can’t do it. I can’t see anyone wanting to pay mega money for him so best to let his contract run down and wave him off next summer.

And I much preferred humble Mo salah to greedy ‘revenge’ hungry Mo Salah.

I don’t have any issues with what he said pre match at all. He still comes across as a pretty driven guy. His desire has been fundamental in our rise as a team.

Salah had -I think- 5 shots on goal, which is not bad. And the one where he took the ball under control and forced a worldie save from Courtois was vintage Salah. He has definitely not played as well since the Afcon - and when you look deeper into how much football he has been forced to play it’s no wonder. Physically he looks sharp but mentally, not so much.

He seems to be the whipping boy round here for quite a few months now. I think that is mainly because of the standards he set from August to December and the fact that he hasn’t been able to replicate them second half of the season.

I think you hit the nail on the head with the mentally comment. The contract talk and intense focus on him won't have helped but he hasn't been instinctive at all on the pitch for a few months. He has looked pressured and whatever the reason he needs to move on. We all have limits if emotional reserves and I think he has reached his. He needs to commit his long term future somewhere and get back to just enjoying playing football again.

He’s not a whipping boy, but expectations are high. He was the best player in the world, and now he’s struggling, being outplayed by a new signing from Porto who’s also played a **** ton of games. Best players in the world don’t got through half a season getting dispossessed whenever the try and beat a man. And they don’t fall apart mentally from playing an extra international tournament. He’s being judged on his peak form and financial expectations and he’s fallen below those standards. Sure, they are probably unfair standards, but they’re the levels our fans want in our team. It’s a cut throat game, and realistically, few people give a **** about his mental fatigue or pressure etc, players do it on the pitch or they don’t, and if they don’t, the expectation is that somebody else will.
