Can't see him agreeing to a one year extension, I can see him running down the contract and he'll go on a free.
I really can't see Edwards/Hughes going down that contract route
I make no apologies, this is me

Agree, if he doesn’t want to continue to be a Liverpool player beyond next season, now is the time to sell. However if he isn’t ready for a Saudi retirement, then I’d be happy for him to keep signing 1 year extensions until he has had enough.

I'm sure Salah & his agent knows the score at Anfield, no more long contracts for those after 32 years of age, just rolling yearly contracts as that protects the club.
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

It's good for him as well, when he's ready to cash in on his retirement he's not tied down, he's free to negotiate in Jan for a summer move. On the other hand you have to plan your season and can't have a key player staying on as a free agent, it would be asking for trouble.

Even the most undecided player can commit to that I'd imagine.

Tying a player down for 4-5 years is for the club to protect resale value not the player. The chances of him suddenly going **** and stealing a wage for 4 years is fairly low, even at his age, he's not your average campaigner.

            Same thing apply to TAA?

He has the same amount if time left on his contract as Salah does.

And to give my own answer to what I asked you. Yes it should imo and maybe even moreso than Salah given TAA's age.

Yes, same thing, get value when you can, avoid them going on a free if possible.

100% this. TAA might be just holding out on resigning to be sure we don’t sign Southgate to replace Klopp

TAA is an interesting one - I see Romano has posted about Real Madrids interest in TAA’s contract situation

Would be a big loss if he doesn’t sign a new contract

Seen that mentioned a lot but genuinely don't see where he would fit in that Real team or who he would replace.

Real are just stacked with top class talent in the middle and they have guys like Valverde who is top class in the centre and also in the wide midfield and winger positions.

Even with guys like Modric and Kroos coming towards the end of the Real careers, the current younger players they have all have pretty high work rates and every one of them excels in a number of positions.

Wide right you have guys like Rodrygo and TAA would have zero chance of displacing Tchouameni from the CDM position as Tchoo can match TAA's passing ability but brings far more mobility and physicality.

Plus in Ancelotti's 41212 set up which goes 433 when defending, every player is expected to work hard on the defending side of things, especially the midfielders.

I think we have to accept that part of his game has gone - not the part I expected - he still seems to have decent pace, but his finishing - accounting for the fact that much of it is speculative - is really dropping. I don't mind keeping him here (but would rather sell for a fee) but he shouldn't be a natural starter next season. We need to move on. With a new manager I would be amazed if Salah gets as many games. Gonna be a big come down for him..
                            Really?

I'm prepared for Mo going now. He looks like he's starting to decline. My overriding concern is that we have no replacement. His leaving (or staying and being poor) leads to a massive drop of quality in our front three. I has hoped Nunez would step into shouldering that load but he hasn't and probably won't. Elliott is miles away from what Salah was. Diaz is good but no prolific and Jota is a crock. I have a feeling this will be expensive to sort out.
