Hopefully "no offer" just means that we and his agent haven't come up with an offer worth presenting to Mo, and not that we are not even bothering to start negotiations.

Mo knows exactly what he’s doing here. Timing this again for the week we play City and Madrid. It was the United game last time.Originally posted by Irishnev View Post
I don’t believe for a second that there hasn’t been an offer or discussions of some type, he’s just trying to ratchet up the pressure and get the fans angry again. It’s very clever, but I’m not sure I like it a great deal.Cult Member. Nazi puncher.

If he does leave, then hopefully it will be to somewhere like PSG or maybe back to Italy to somewhere like one of the Milan clubs or Juventus. He has seen players effectively retire from football by going to Saudi and he probably has another 3 seasons at the top before he does that.
However, if he got the best offer for himself from the premier league - probably from City - then we can't really begrudge him that tbh at this stage

He is putting himself in the shop window with comments like that and that will put pressure on the club to improve the deal on the table. He wants the best deal possible and the club want the best value. I’d hope to see a compromise position agreed before Xmas.We are here for a good time not a long time....

Whatever games might be going on with his agent or whoever, the club should have done more sooner to get something done. We shouldn’t have let any of the players contracts get to this point. These types of questions are inevitable from the press, frustration from the fans is also natural, and the players team are naturally going to use that to get a rldeal done. Letting this run this long does the club no favours if they want the players to sign new contracts as the agents will soon be able to negotiate deals elsewhere, with large signing on fees etc.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

They should have resolved Mo and Virgil immediately after the transfer window shut. Trent too, at least that way we would know if he is staying or not by now.

The one thing that doesn’t account for is, what if the club have been trying to and the players have refused to come to the table to discuss. I suspect that is what happened last year, once it became clear that Jurgen was off, with Trent at least and probably Virgil as well.
A deal requires both sides to agree… and we don’t really have any clue what has happened over the last 18 months. Players wanting to sign now (presuming they get what they want), doesn’t mean they were willing to in August.Last edited by chadrtc; 25-11-24, 12:43 PM.Cult Member. Nazi puncher.

Would be heart breaking to see, but would make perfect sense from a city perspective:
a) at the moment if halland isn’t scoring none of their other attackers are either
b) with their FFP situation, no transfer fee would be perfect
c) with us being 8 (or hopefully more by January) points ahead, this would be good mind games, to disrupt things in the Liverpool camp.
I can’t believe the club aren’t giving him a new contract. I get the narrative that you need to build for the future etc, but when he takes his top off, we see how he looks after himself. I feel like he’ll still be contributing greatly 3 years from now, if not more. Given Jota’s injury record, we should be looking to replace Jota/Nunez/Chiesa before Salah, if we feel the need to free up space in attack. At some point they’ll need to let Salah go, and ideally you want it to be before he’s finished of course- but surely not while he’s the best attacker at the club… and probably the best attacker in the league…I don't tip

Getting goals like that is a great attribute. With Salah it seems like some mark him down. He mentioned in interview that he once asked Wenger about elite mentality and Wenger told him that elite mentality exists in players that stay mentally sharp even when having a quiet game. That even considering this they remain alive to possibility.
That is Mo in a nutshell. And, if it were that easy, every forward would do it.

I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
