Fourth is nuts but to the fair to Ousmane Dembele, he also had a crazy season in terms of goals and assists and was part of a treble winning team.

He plays in a farmer's league so he basically just won the CL. A total of 35 goals is crap, he needs to be hitting Henrik Larsson level of goals (50+) to even raise an eyebrow.

Don’t most of the journalists who vote on it admit they don’t watch that much. Who cares who the journalists pick as the best players. What makes them the best judges of who the best players are. If you don’t play in an attacking position you’re highly unlikely to win it. I can only remember Cannavaro and Rodri.

Maybe the people voting actually do watch the games and see how poor he generally is for 90% of games until he pops up with a cheap goal at the end...

The vote only accounts for part of it, the whole way certain chosen individuals pick the top ten is dodgy as ****. There’s is no question Salah was the best individual last season. 34 goals and 23 assists is ridiculous, and the fact he scored 29 goals + 18 assists just in the toughest league (by a country mile) says it all. Dembele scored one goal more than him but Salah had way more assists. No one was as ‘complete’ as him. If the criteria is you must have won the champions league then only nominate the PSG players. ******s.

He was never going to win it, there has been talk for a while about it having to go to someone who won the CL. Before that the giving it to Ronaldo or Messi every year just to pad their numbers it didn't have any credibility then IMO. And before that it was kind of a non-enitity

That's the problem with polls as people have short memories so that doesn't help Salah as his form fell away after xmas when you compare his stats for the first half of the season when he was on fire! That is so typical of Salah over the years & in particular after Afcon competitions.
His quite games vs PSG didn't help him either & did nothing to help Liverpool knock out PSG who went on to win it with Dembele getting crucial goals along the way.
Maybe Salah has copped on & is holding off his form for the business end where he might get recognised as a true great by others along with us fans.
