Defence has been **** all season, Kerkez and Konate have been xalked out for poor/inconsistent performances, VVD has been no where near his usual standard, all the swapping around at RB has helped no one Bradley has seemingly been first choice but has had injuries and Slot seems to love Szoboszlai there even if it means weakening midfield. We looked better with Robbo at LB, but Gomez has barely had any mins. I thinkball would do better with a midfield that could control games rather than being torn apart, but thecrelative lack of options makes it difficult to xall for people to be dropped.

Also don't want to be too harsh on Mamardashvili but we don't concede some of those goals if Alisson plays, their 2nd yesterday, you'd back Alisson in a one on one to save that instead of backing off Alisson comes out closes him down and forces him to take the shot before he's ready. But both Konate and VVD were **** for that goal. Konate has a 10 yard start and just doesn't see the danger. VVD is jogging back.

I'm starting to think as poor as he's been, there's no reason to single him out when the rest of the team is playing so poorly. He isn't the main reason we're leaking goals. If the rest of the team were playing like last season, would his form be similar or at least the output?

He's been relieved of his defensive duties, and that is putting a lot more pressure on our midfield, so I would suggest he is one of the reasons we're conceding goals. Not goals from a long throw, granted.

His thread is always bouncing around near the top, he's a star player and highest earner, his failings are comment worthy, but there is loads of comment about other players in other threads, and not that much here about Salah in that time (2 posts above yours). Don't get all Harv about it.

Not that they all need slated, but the fundamental issues we have are down to the performances and connections of these players also.

Our goal scoring record is not too bad - not saying Salahs been good in saying that - but when we need to get a minimum of three goals to win a game then the issues probably lie elsewhere.

He was relieved of them last season and it was one of his best. This season Slot has decided to also allow Gravenberch to push on, add Wirtz who for all his values, defending isn't one of them. We also have new forwards who don't offer the same pressing as the ones gone.

It was like this was all predictable.

There’s little point getting into this with you tbh as I’m repeatedly saying that I also don’t think Salah is playing well. But I’m looking to discuss what has changed. Predominantly Salah has played with Trent - Bradley made 17 league appearances last season. 11 the season before. A number of these from the bench.

The attempt to devalue Salah’s 29 goals and 17 assists in the League last year is ultimately the heart of why this is a futile discussion. You want to pile on the player as it suits your long running agenda - that’s fair enough.

The fact you have to throw in a LOL etc at every post where you think differently is ridiculous. It’s not debate really then is it? It’s you trying to belittle anyone you disagree with. Again your lookout.

But if someone were to say point out that Kerkez was again poor yesterday you’d not be all over the discussion - you’d be all over the person who posted it. Ironically we probably agree broadly across a number of discussions - even some of the nuance of this one - but a post like your one above is virtually impossible to engage with.
