Exactly. A pragmatic solution regarding the financials. He wants to play every game, we can't have that and remain competitive and moreover shouldn't be paying £400k a week for the performances he's been putting in lately. I'm glad he's chosen and can leave on a relative high. He is a club legend afterall, and no-one can take that away from him so it shouldn't be diluted. As you say, the timing is right - I'm sure this has been agreed for months internally.Originally posted by Cerbie View PostI think it’s a pragmatic solution that respects Mo and saves the club on salary. Perfect timing with the international break too.
It’s up to him now whether he wants to head to Italy, the MLS or Saudi. Realistically he could do a couple of seasons at Roma, then move to the MLS and still be good enough to compete in the Saudi league after that.
It may be more of a family decision. I suspect the longer he leaves it the less wilingl his girls will be to do the Saudi experience.
Slightly controversial - but I think he's going to bomb where ever he goes.Really?

That is nuts. At least a goal or assist against 18 of 19 teams. Lol at against Spurs.
He might have come close to it in his first season with us too I reckon what with scoring 32 goals and getting 12 assists in the league that season.
Wonder has any player managed to do it against all 19 other teams before.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Like some on here I've been privileged to watch Rush/Dalglish, then Beardsley/Barnes/Aldridge, Then Macca/Fowler, then Gerrard/Owen, then Gerrard/Torres, then Sturridge/Suarez and then Mane/Salah. The stats don't lie, Rush was as phenomenal as his numbers make out but Salah has been by far our best.
I wouldn't want any of them starting the next game against City, though. Including Salah. They're all past it now.One tit for another.

We probably thought the same about Barnes/Beardley/Aldridge. We will see another attack where all are top class and that mesh together to create a unit that is even greater than the sum of its parts.
We just might have to wait another decade or two to see that level again. That said I would love to see what an attacking three of Ronnie, Ekitike and Olise that is being fed by Wirtz would look like after a season together.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Is 'bomb' positive or negative?Originally posted by Tatterdemalion View PostSlightly controversial - but I think he's going to bomb where ever he goes.
I just can't believe he has suddenly lost all ability. It looks very much like he's been asked to play as a traditional winger and not a right sided forward, and if so, his game has suffered dramatically for it
I would think if he plays as as RW in a 433, with his role to score and assist, he'll succeed and post the numbers we've been lucky enough to have seen in the past
MaybeI saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

He's certainly lost a yard of pace and given what we have seen this season his dribbles are easily defended against whereas peak Salah left them on the floor. A less intense league would suit IMOOriginally posted by Fierce View PostIs 'bomb' positive or negative?

Putting him on the wing is precisely why that's become so apparent though.Originally posted by Deano View PostHe's certainly lost a yard of pace and given what we have seen this season his dribbles are easily defended against whereas peak Salah left them on the floor. Keep him closer to goal and you're not asking him to dribble so much. He can still get goals and assists when you get the ball to him in and around the box.
If wherever he goes next use him more like we did last season and not this season, then the washed calls will start to look a little premature..

He's played a blinder here. All the shenanigans last season over him wanting to stay, backing us into a corner to get his deal. He gets his 2 year luxurative deal and turns to ****. Sulks when dropped. Speaks to the media on his terms. Now we have no option but to let him go and cut the wages free.
Great player. Great moments. We gave him the platform to excel. I preferred watching Mane. Game of opinions and all that.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde
