Nice that a few World class managers have had their say on Salah leaving.

Klopp did the same. So did Hendo.Originally posted by Harv View PostHe's clearly announcing this now to make the end of the season all about him and make sure he gets the big send off he wants.
He will get the big send off no matter what though, that's what he doesn't quite get with his theatrics. He's an all-time great, he deserves a huge send off.
It somewhat takes the shine off everything he does by trying to manufacturer this deity-like adulation he's started craving from fans.
Trent didn’t and got even more ****e for it.
It’s a no win scenario if you are a football player because fans are so unforgiving.
How can it take the shine off a decades worth of elite performance which delivered trophies we’d dreamed off for most of our adult lives. Ridiculous.Modifying post.

TAA got what he deserved imo as he was bull****ting his way towards the exit. Plus he was quick to play the local lad card when it suited him.
The other three you named were up front about leaving and when they would be leaving. Think having clarity about what is going to happen makes a big difference.
Might be interesting to see how Konate and Robertson leaving goes down (assuming nothing changes in the final 8 to 10 weeks of the season.)I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Salah certainly seems to be a bête noir for some on here, it’s been going on for absolutely ages.Originally posted by Doc_Piptorious View PostTAA got what he deserved imo as he was bull****ting his way towards the exit. Plus he was quick to play the local lad card when it suited him.

My point is more that with some players the narrative is destined to be unforgiving no matter what they’ve achieved.
How does some of this anti Mo stuff even manifest outwith online?
With Salah for some this narrative has been years in the making and the trophies we’ve won along the way specifically last season were really inconvenient.
I just don’t see it that way. The team that is all but over will forever have a soft spot for me and there’s no ‘I preferred Mane to Salah’ in it. As a team they were perfect. I’ll celebrate that. If people want to say x, y, or z has now ruined that then personally I don’t see it.
We should be so lucky to have such issues as supporters right?Modifying post.

Don't disagree that there has been a narrative about Salah that has been contradictory to his behaviour (most of the time) as a model pro on and off of the pitch.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostSalah certainly seems to be a bête noir for some on here, it’s been going on for absolutely ages.

Do not find it unusual that he is a target for ire though. Said it many times that there is a vein of negativity and entitlement running through our support, in my opinion of course, that has really come out in a big way this season and genuine criticisms about things have been blown up and then turned into ciriticism, again imo, for the sake of criticism often before a ball has been kicked in the game the criticism is aimed at that day.
Criticism of his football performances this season are fair game in my eyes as is criticism of his petulant outburst this season, but prior to that he always backed up anything he said (directly or through his agent) with club legend level goal and assist returns for eight seasons in a row.
Best right sided player I have seen play for us in my lifetime, he is also up there in any conversation about who was our best attacking player of all time and a bone fide great for LFC. Think his legacy is safe as in 10, 20, 30 years time people will still be talking about him the same way many of us of a certain vintage are still talking about names like Souness, Barnes, Dalglish and Mike Marsh. Go to fans 10 or so years older and Clemence, Smith, Hughes, Keegan etc in the conversation. Salah sits easily alongside any name we could throw out there.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
