He's had 3 or 4 absolute shockers back to back after looking in the best form of his career... so probably as puzzled as us.

Mo gets judged differently, even when he scores and assists some folk would still say he’s had a shocker.

Guess the feeling would be different if Cody had scored from his pass, but I can understand the hesitation in offering him 4 or 500k, if he plays poorly, we can't sub him off, and it's difficult to rotate or rest him as well. He needs to step up a bit again.

I'm referring to his general play in the last 4 or so, him looking painfully slow, hesitant, ball bouncing off him, mis controlling it, running into players, down blind alleys, swiping at the ball.... that is nothing got to do with tactics he's just having a bad run of form imo. Compare the last 4 games to his previous 24, where he's looked absolutely incredible and people even sayin it is the best he's ever looked.

Mo created the most chances in a single game that any player of ours has managed this season.

At least three of those chances saw the player receiving the ball from Mo miss badly. The Gakpo miss being one of them.

He may have looked off form yesterday and still was unlucky not to finish with a hattrick of assists.

At least three of those chances saw the player receiving the ball from Mo miss badly. The Gakpo miss being one of them.

He may have looked off form yesterday and still was unlucky not to finish with a hattrick of assists.

He also nicked the ball away from a Brentford player and sent Chiesa on his way to help set up 2nd goal.

The drop off us more obvious when the goals dry up.

Hopefully its temporary, as we dont appear to have a consistent performer apart from him. But it does makevme wonder if this was Edwards' trump card in contract negotiations. Wait until he is playing comparitively poorly to make an offer.

All three of TAA, VVD and Salah are each meant to have had a minimum of two contract offers made to them at this point.

Rumour mill is that TAA was offered 300k a week basic with improved bonuses for 4 years and the other two were offered their current terms with improved bonuses for two years.

The supposed sticking point for both Salah (turning 33 in June) and VVD (turns 34 in July) is that each want a three year deal and not a two or a two plus one type deal.


The rumour with TAA is that he looked for yet more time to consider the offer.

Highly doubt it. It would be an extremely tenuous tactic to try and lever 3 or 4 below par games, when Salah can point to 21 goals and 17 assists over the period of the negotiations.

I think Henry was a slightly better player. Stats dont always come into it. I think Suarez was a better player too. Not to take anything away. Its pretty small margins.

So many other variables influence how we see players. I will always argue that I think peak Fowler was better than Rush, but then I saw Fowler more, and Rushies record cannot be ignored, despite having played in a much better team.

Point being Salah will go fown as a Liverpool legend, probably second to Rush. He doesnt get the recognition he deserves outside of our fanbase imho.
