He is an all time LFC great, a genuine club legend and his current form/ability is to the detriment of the team during games.

Would be giving Chiesa and Rio 45 minutes each or a 60/30 split in games to the end of the season as at least you know there would be a mix of pace (Rio) and tenacity ( Chiesa) on the right flank every game.

    Will not happen though.
that's exactly what should happen, we need workers, we need passion, we need desire, we need character. The talent is there but in this moment we need more than that, we need lads to put in a shift and give everything for the badge. No doubts Gakpo and Mo will start vs PSG. I've got to the stage where I was hoping City would get a 5th or 6th so Slot would maybe get the sack.... not a good place to be as a supporter.

I don't see it working with Chiesa out wide, he tries hard but offers little threat outside the width of the goal. I think Salah can do a job from the bench, his fitness is still good so I wonder if he would get more joy against tired defenders, having sat and stewed on the bench for an hour or so and coming on with something go prove might be the way to go with him.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

        No it is not.

Understandable to feel that way but at the same time pointless as it takes away even the glimmer of enjoyment imo.

TBH I think Slot's fate is already decided now. Staying or going, he has been told and dreaming of him getting the sack is just a waste of energy.

Do find it a bit interesting that there are rumours of how Alonso wanted to wait until the summer to see if the Man City job will be vacant and diud not want to commit to any other club before then.

My gut feeling is that we have to wait for the summer as the manager or coach we are in talks with either wants for his club season to end or it is a manager that is going to the World cup. The latter would a no no for me as we would be getting a guy whose mind would be on the WC in the summer and would not be hitting the ground running with us from day one as a result.

Though the list of names that are rumoured to be linked to us are underwhelming for the most part, then again the list of potentially available (in the summer) managers that look like they would be a sure fire hit is somewhere between very short and non existant imo .

Kind of hope if we change in the summer that we are not getting in a PL manager as the names banded about from that pot all look, to me, as big a risk as keeping Slot on.

Think we need a guy who has some, at the very least, big club experience and ideally some experience of meeting and beating adversity. Be happy too to get someone that has shown he can move country and still be a success. Always feel like that sort of manager in the modern game works better with the International cast that makes up most squads.

Him working hard and putting pressure on players helps pin their full back in his own half and would reduce the amount of times other teams can just waltz down our right flank with little resistance.

That alone would make a difference to our balance and then after 45 or 60 mins of Chiesa doing that, we bring on Rio to go at the full back that Chiesa has been harrrying.

Far more chance of Chiesa leaving a full back with less in the tank than Salah at present imo.

I hope he scores in our last home game. He deserves that. It's a shame having to witness his form this season.

Has to be tactics aswell, impossible to drop off a cliff like that imo.

100%. Sticking him on the wing, losing his main supply in Trent, the overall dysfunction of the team.

Did you see that **** he served up on Saturday? Was that because he was on a wing? No, it's because his legs have gone. His touch is horrendous, his shooting even worse and that fluffed golden chance he squandered before we as a team totally shat the bed was indicative of his season. Nothing to do with where he's lined up on the pitch, he's wasted loads of chances he'd n previous years have easily slotted.

This grasping at straws blaming everything other than Salah himself is hilarious.

Read the post I was replying to. Notice the words 'as well'.

Yes that was a particularly bad game. Yes he's fallen off this season, but what he difference we're seeing between last season and this is not 100% regression from him.

I’ve just watched the clubs video of all salah’s goals and assists last season. It’s safe to say that Trent had bugger all to do with it, he was only involved in a few of the goals. The overall differences in style of play are stark though. We scored a lot from pressing the man, winning the ball and attacking with speed, and counterattacking from our own back third. We often had numbers over in the final third, we looked for early balls into space for Darwin, Diaz and salah to run on to.

I think our games were more chaotic, more turnovers, less control of the ball and more space for our attackers. I think it’s fair to say that that is far more suited to Salah than the slower, zonal pressing, possession focused approach that Slot has adopted this year. It also led to more penalties, which padded salah’s numbers.

I’d also say that the big money buys in the summer look to me as though they were deliberately bought for the new approach, and that our problems have not been about new players adapting etc, it’s that the new approach is ****ing ****.

Great news. He deserves the very best of send offs and I expect his song to be echoed for many year to come.

Probably just as much talent as he's offered us, it's his continued availability that has impressed greatly. Don't make them like Mo anymore. Messi and Ronaldo are the only other ones I can think of.

Haaland maybe but he's got a few years left to confirm it.
