But yeah I'm glad it has been said out in the open, by a club legend and backed by many of the players. Would I preferred if he said it after the Brentford game? Yup but it really needed to be said, as Slot has come across as tone deaf and hasn't taken any responsibility for what a disaster this season has been, not only in performances and results but in terms of direction and the lack of any sort of identity. It's the most bizarre season I have witnessed since I've been supporting the club.
Said it lots. One or two players out of form is on them. The entire team? That's on someone or something else

Two different takes on Salah. One from Carra and one from Gerrard.

        Carra

“I wasn’t surprised. I told everybody at Sky behind the scenes, my friends who were liverpool fans, I said Salah something else will come before the end of the season. He will drop another bomb. A little bit like what Ronaldo did on the way out of Manchester United. I thought it may come after the end of the season when he sort of moved on but no.

“On this show less than two years ago, I called him selfish for doing an interview and that rings true again. Liverpool have a really important week this week, still not qualified for the Champions League and it should be about Liverpool FC, not Salah FC, but unfortunately it’s going to be about Mohamed Salah…”

“I don’t think any manager should ever cut off his nose to spite his face. Now if playing Mo Salah at the weekend gives Liverpool the best chance of winning the game, you have to pick him. I’ve criticised Mo Salah in the first answer about being selfish. Arne Slot can’t be selfish and he has to think of the club, what’s best for the club. If Liverpool need a result against Brentford because Bournemouth get a result and do well against City, then he has to pick him if he thinks he is in the best team.

But if Liverpool have already qualified for the Champions League, that might be different. Arne Slot might think to play the players who will be here next season and we bring Mo Salah off the bench, I am not sure.”

“Arne Slot is not in a position of great strength at Liverpool and that’s why Salah made his comments. It’s not a situation of Alex Ferguson where he’s really powerful, got the club on his hands, and he will make decisions… Jose Mourinho… Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, these could have made these decisions and maybe could have gotten away with it with the backing of the crowd. Arne Slot doesn’t have the backing of the crowd. That’s why Salah has done it. If he doesn’t give him the send-off I think the fans will turn on Arne Slot even more. That’s why I’m disappointed in Salah because he knows the manager got no where to go with it.”

        Gerrard

"Mo Salah doesn't really speak much, and he doesn't tweet, and he certainly doesn't tweet like that. So I think that he's sending a message to the outside that things in that Liverpool dressing room are not right: the identity's gone and it's really hurting him to see it in front of his own eyes. One game to go, his last game for Liverpool. You guys know, you've been involved in the media: he very rarely speaks, he's done interviews lately because he's obviously bringing the curtain down on an incredible Liverpool career. But that is quite damning to the Liverpool manager and the staff in terms of where this team's at. That's my opinion on that."

Carra is biased, online lost there.

He’s clearly doing it with the backing of the squad, which suggests things are worse internally than we imagine.

The only season that comes close to this is the Hodgson season. That was ****ing mental - an absolute disaster from the moment he was suggested.
this is thing that is genuinely so concerning, it sounds toxic.

I agree with both positions, but I care more about the former because it’s of more consequence.

His post is one of the few positives from his last season with us.
Agree with both of you. Normally I frown upon players going public with their grievances but in this instance I think he’s spot on.

I think it may have been aimed toward the owners, not the fans.

We all know the problems. The players face it every day.

The owners were rumoured to be keeping Slot on, and I think that is what caused it.

                  Maybe

The top and bottom of it is that Salah still has his nose out of joint from being benched earlier in the season, and is dropping some grenades on his way out of the door. If the players feel so strongly about how things are going then they can channel all their alleged frustration into actually physically competing with opponents.

Right. Salah is definitely excusing his **** season here by claiming it is because of our new 'style' of play. He hasn't addressed how he - as a world class winger - failed to adapt (and still doesn't have a right foot).

And as for the rest of them - prove it or shut up.
                      Really?

1 or 2 bad performers is on the individuals. More than that is something else.

Which is why the repeated bitching about certain players has been a bit dull.
                        Except Gakpo.

I really hope he gets to play on the last day and scores a penalty or something.
