    Man City Build Up

    V

    12:30 Sat 9th September 2017

    Bored of transfer talk.

Would have been confident of beating City if this was straight after Arsenal, but the Internationals are going to be a pain. All our attackers will have travelled long distances and will have little time to recover thanks to the early KO. Obviously City will have similar problems, but they haven't really clicked yet anyway and perhaps can rely on that extra bit of quality to see them through.

I'd be tempted to start the same team as against Arsenal if all players report back fit. Be nice to have the option of Coutinho and Ox coming off the bench.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

What's their starting line-up these days? They don't have Kolarov and Micho at CB anymore, right?

Coutinho playing for Brazil is good for us, he'll get his match fitness back after his awful injury, so I'd start him right away. Score two and it's half forgiven.

Migs - TAA Matip Lovren Moreno - Hendo Can Coutinho - Salah Mane Firmino

Karius Klavan Gomez Wijnaldum Oxlade Sturridge Solanke.

Milner, Robertson, Grujic and Ings left out.

Otamendi probably their weak link and Ederson in nets still looks pretty shaky. We definitely would have put a few past these with everyone firing, but even without the Internationals, early KO's can sometimes take a while to get going.

Gomez or TAA? I'd say TAA

I'd love Wijnaldum to score an away goal and we shut up shop. That would scare the **** out of the league.

If Clyne is fit I would start him. He is a quality defender and he showed when Mane was fit last season just how well he works when paired with a fast winger. TAA and Gomez are for the future and more than capable back up, but Clyne is as underated as Finnan used to be and is just as good as Finnan was if not better.

Would have Coutinho on the bench too instead of either Solanke or Sturridge (probably Solanke) simply because regardless of his rat behaviour he is a top class player. This of course would be based on whther Klopp wants him involved with the first team straight away or not. If Klopp wants him to be exiled for a while then I am good with that too.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

No chance I'd be playing an unfit player like Clyne in a big match like this. A recipe for disaster imo.

If Klopp wants to involve Phil I'm OK with that, hell if Klopp wanted to be involved with my wife I would probably be OK with that too.

Aye Clyne is still first choice for me, but think he might need a few u-23 games or sub appearances first.

What is the latest with him anyway? What is he even out with?
