Was doing the same stuff at Sevilla though. He is now 25 and making the same mistakes here as he was for Sevilla. It's not the manager that is at fault for his lapses in concentration and lack of awareness on the pitch.

Every attacking fullback will get caught out from time to time it's part and parcel of the modern game, that is not my issue with him. His positional sense and awareness though are glaring weaknesses under any manager.

He managed to get himself into the spain team before leaving Sevilla so he obviously brought something to the table. But believe it or not, I didn't watch much of Sevilla four or five years ago, or if I did I can't remember.

But I'm suggesting that some of what is regarded as poor positioning has been him trying to get into attacking wide positions as he had been instructed. I can't remember the game but he got slaughtered for being half way up the pitch when we were counter attacking and Henderson gifted their number 10 the ball and they scored from our left side. That stuff is 100% coaching for me.

I'm not saying he's great but he's not as bad as the consensus here would suggest.

This is the plight of the modern fullback for sure, Glen Johnson used to get the same grief.

Fecking hell, does Salah ever do any actual training?

I'm pretty sure that Kompany usually has a mare against us anyway.

                            Either, it's all good.
                            Oh I don't know.

City - especially under Pep - are too arrogant to change the way they play against us. So I expect to see our front 3 get opportunities to really run at them.

If Henderson, Gini and Can (assuming the 3 of them start) are able to really get in their faces whilst they tippy-tap the **** out of the ball, and release it early, then we could have joy.

If Kompany does start, then to be honest he isn't the player of 2/3 years ago and if we can have Mane or Salah running at him and dragging him out of position, then we could semi-retire the ****er tomorrow. If Kompany starts the game, then I think he will get a yellow card in the first half.

A win here could really kick-start our season.....

As usual, like with our games v Everton, my biggest concern is the law of averages. We can't keep tonking them / not losing. We've got to lose one of these games sooner or later, it's just not realistic to keep winning them or getting good draws away.

In a purely footballing sense I'm confident, think we can go there and rip them apart tbh.
