We have four (centre-backs). I don’t think we need more," Klopp said.

"Joe is in a really good way but it was not his day (against Athletic Bilbao). He made his life difficult with a few passes but things like this happen.

    "In the moment I’m fine.
Klopp in August. For the life of me I can't see how he thought these players were not worth improving. They patently are.

Anyway we should get out of this group but we're a massively hamstrung team and will continue to be until we can get some defensive recruitments in.

We tried to manage second half but Sevilla are a very good side. It's not the end of the world even though it's frustrating. We are brilliant going forward you would expect flaws defensively because we play so quickly and rely on rhythm.
      Are we winning?

Nigh on impossible if you're Liverpool Football Club.

It was bad enough when all we had to worry about was our defence. So Klopp ups the ante by giving us zero midfield this season. Henderson has gone back to being horrendouson. At fault, along with Matip for that piss easy goal. Horrendous is clearly still injured and unmatch fit and it's costing us.

Not a disaster tonight but where our plan B defender from the summer? Oh yeah, Klopp. I like Klopp but bloody hell.

Weren't brilliant second half otherwise we would have scored more. It's a fallacy.. we can be brilliant but we often are better on the eye than end product.

That's not just about defence and bad luck that loss. Shouldn't have conceded the first and the penalty miss is a kick in the nuts.

One issue that I think hampers us is not just defensive errors it's also a lack of good game management from the players on the field.

I love as a fan to see us constantly driving at teams even when ahead but I think the team could also be much smarter, it's impossible to play the tempo like the first 45 today for all 90 minutes.

There are times when we are up like 2-1 with 20 to go where wer need to control the tempo. I'm not sure whether this a symptom of a lack of this sort of leader on the field or what but when I think of the recent great teams we have had, there was always a Gerrard or Alonso or even Carragher who would influence the tempo of the game and see results out either with their own passing play or by getting that message out to keep calm and keep the ball.

We are just piss poor at managing games under Klopp. It's pathetic really

I feel comfortable putting our attack alongside Barca, Real or PSG's but it's going to be wasted if we dont sort the rest out. 2 goals should be enough to win any home game let alone v an average side like them and average is being kind, they were absolutely ****ing dreadful yet got out of here with 2 goals and a draw, 3 goals at Watford yet not winning, cant go on and the worst bit is we are apparently sitting on £150m to spend!! Amazing, you'd say ok we'll deal with it if we were skint but we are just handicapping ourselves for no reason whatsoever, truly bizarre. Even if we had a brilliant defence we should be looking at ways to improve it let alone this one! Spurs spent about £40m on a centre back in the summer and already had the best defence in the league. Strengthen from a position of strength, we wont even do it from a position of weakness.

Don't do it Dan - listening to Irish tv will drive you nuts. The one thing they point out that drives me nuts is that they never bollock each other!

All I can think about is how a lot of people rated the transfer window as a 7/8 out of 10. ****ing laughable.

When the defence wasn't addressed it pretty much ****ed us for the season.

Any team with aspirations of top 4 in the PL or latter CL stages wouldn't have conceded against a very poor Sevilla team. Its ludicrous. No cover for that defence from midfield. Some of the best defences of all time would be massively exposed with the cover they are given never mind those bunch of clowns.

It's admirable to always want to attack but against good teams like Sevilla or indeed any team at this level, they can make you pay with one quick counter.

Meaning they get the chance to sting you once even though they have been outplayed for the vast majority of the game.

I think Robertson might end up being our best defender... where was he tonight?

I know mate. Making some good points thougg. Same defensive errors every week, same defensive weakness exploited every week and the same defensive issues not addresses in the transfer window.

There's just no ****ing leaders in that side. It's 1 step forward and 2 steps back with this Liverpool side. I can't believe the contrast between the two halves. Sick as a ****ing pig yet again.. Joke it is sort the poxy defence out same **** every week man.
