On the game again, Coutinho played very well, as did Sturridge. It's very encouraging that we can rotate as much and still not lose the fluency and the verve going forward. Special mention also to Milner who acquitted himself well in the middle and Can, who is now a very important player for us. I'd like to see more of him in the controlling midfield role.
The problem is that isn't going to happen, if you look at Lovren and Klavan in all the time they have been here they have consistently made mistakes, I don't really see any reason to think that they will cut those mistakes.

I feel that the negativity is brought about from frustration; everyone called that our defence wasn't good enough in the summer and that we needed to bring in a new CB, if we had brought someone in and they had played like this you could make the excuse that they were bedding in etc. These players have played together regularly. Not having brought someone in feels like we are prepared to write off this season.

Putting aside the Man City game as a freak result the games that we have dropped points in are games that we have to be winning, Burnley at home and Watford away having scored 3 goals. The more points that we drop now the more difficult we make it for ourselves later in the season.

We're five points behind City and Utd now.

In reality 5 points behind isn't too bad...as long as we beat utd twice & city in the 2nd game! Still early days so a lot can happen and teams can get some wins together or hit a patch of poor form.

The point is we are already playing catch up and the games we have drawn are games that we should be winning

United haven't played a good side yet, they've been handed an incredibly easy start. City have only played us. Us, Chelsea and Arsenal have already had two games against top 6 sides. I'm not worried about being 5 back, but obviously our defending is a major worry as is the fact we've already "used up" one of those ****ty dropped points games against weaker opposition at home. It looks like nothing has changed for us.

Another way to look at it is we're 5 points behind after 5 games and if that trend continues.....

Suddenly all our games look hard - Leicester away in the league next week looks another stinker for us.

I think we'll win next week in the league game. The League Cup game is an unknown quantity cos we've no idea what sort of teams both sides will put out.

The league cup is great for gambling as the bookies don't know what strength teams will go for so the odds can be decent.

Are the two games that Mane will miss those two against Leicester?
                      Are we winning?

Spurs and Chelsea have done us and Klopp a huge favour this weekend. Massive. Need to make sure we absolutely stuff manure and Moaninho in October to get back into the title race.

Klopp:Sturridge, usually he will score [Vs Burnley]. Shall I go to him [with the team under pressure] & say 'Daniel, what are you doing?

We cannot question everything after a game like this [Vs Burnley].

When we don’t score the first goal it is like this [pressure] & you can feel it in the stadium.

I don’t think I can give Daniel [Sturridge] a lot of tips on how he can score more often. He’s a really good striker."
