I think a lot of us feel the same. The summer was a massive let down and it's been hard to have any optimism about the season knowing the same issues which have been in the team for years now are still there.

Yet again after a promising season the club fail to do what's needed to kick on and compete and quite frankly if the club are not arsed why should we be?

FSG need to sell up. Take your £700m profit and please leave.

i`m 46 and have actually seen us win the league at a time when it was like ah well and??? so what we have become pisses me off more than anything and i too hate what football has become but if you are not arsed about how we get on against utd then you need to decide if this is actually for you
Oh I say his vision there was lovely

I never listen to football podcasts and such and I don't watch football bar our games. It's normal to get upset and it's never going to go away whether we are successful or not as we will never win all the time.

If you live a busy life, that sinking feeling goes away pretty quickly.

I've been consumed by football for a while, I'm trying to kick back and discover a bit more to life.

Football in itself is **** man.

That club is something else though, it's part of your life, so it's the only football that I watch or bit of related news that I listen or read to. I go to Anfield once a year as I love the place, the people and feel it's part of me, of what I am and what I believe in. This will never go away, as well as the passion.

Towards the end of Houllier's reign I lost a bit of interest in football and was going that way again under Rodgers, but f*ck me Klopp has been a breath of fresh air and some of our football has been sensational (admittedly not so much recently). I wish I didn't care, that way you could enjoy the exciting football and not have to worry about the results, prefect scenario. Not sure what you hope to get out of it though, if you don't even get to appreciate the football.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Seriously though I'm the opposite in the fact that, I use football and likes of tv shows/movies etc as an out. A chance to either switch my mind off or focus on something else other than the stresses of life.... which are many as we all know.

Off into city centre today with lads (4 lfc, 4 cocky manc pricks) to watch the game and several have beers. We all need to switch off the head from time to time so that when it comes to dealing with the stresses of life, you are that bit more rested mentally to deal and cope with these things. It's good for the soul in my opinion.

In saying that if we lose today i'm going to be on here ranting like a man man

I've invested enough of my energy in the past with little return. I'm 41, there are much better things in life than what football has become.

if you are not that arsed then why come and tell every other ****er that your not arsed. attention seeking whore.
**** knows why I am dignifying this ****e with a response but here goes:

Because we are arsed but not to the weekend defining extent we used to be where the intense rage ruins not only your weekend but drags on all week into the next game - & if it’s a big game like vs Scum, way, way beyond. The burning sense of rage, pain & injustice doesn’t just infect your days, it permeates your dreams & you loose sleep too. It colours everything and everything is framed against it.

When we were going for the title back in 09 & we lost to Boro, I was in the Maldives. I was so utterly ****ed off I went to bed. At about 5pm. When I was on a sunset cruise in Santorini I found out we’d lost & didn’t even bother watching sunset. 2 of the most beautiful places in the world I wasted time there- nowadays I ain’t even been on holiday for nearly 7 years.

In the last few years, I’ve lost 3 jobs, nearly lost my home, had a huge messy break up, seen my Mum suffer with Alzheimer’s, lost my cat & had my own health issues. I’m not after sympathy cos I’m fine now. But that’s the point, I’ve had to stop worrying about **** that just ain’t that important. I get caught up for the ride when we win but we ****ed the summer up massively - and, by default, I haven’t been able to watch our games their season (cable issues) so it’s a lot easier to disengage. I live in Manchester too, you ultimately have to be able to disengage.

I post far less here than I used to - and as a proportion, far more out of the footy forums. I suspect it’s the same for the others. But we are all part of the furniture here and have spent literally weeks of our lives posting so, whilst I disagree with Dom on a lot of ****, he, I & the others have every right to come into the footy forums & express our relative ambivalence to the on field stuff. As Slinks says, it’s not like the players or owners look that arsed anyways.
                          3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I hear you man ( & have been meaning to reply to you, just been well busy & stressed). And agree with the rest but footy is only an out for me if LFC ain’t involved!

So nervous about the match today but feeling positive; want a fast start and us to blow them away in the first 30 mins...but in the back of my mind I see us being wasteful and that DeGea saving everything....
