That’s why we need a decent squad & we need to use it to keep everyone fresh & hungry to be in the side for the bigger matches.

That's why it's a squad game now, at various points we have had good first 11's - perhaps over reliant on one or two players in the past. But as soon as one of our main players got injured we'very struggled. Previously it has been having to replace Torres with Ngog. The current squad has a world class forward line which isn't overly reliant on one player. The midfield is decent and you can swap out a player or two without much impact. The obvious weakness is in defence where no only do we lack numbers but we also lack quality. Sort that and you have a side that should be capable of challenging.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

garth crooks in chatting complete and utter **** shock
However, losing 5-1 is no fun, especially when Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is fist-pumping every goal and celebrating with his staff like it's the final of the Champions League. I understand the importance of winning, but this was Brighton. What I do take exception to is any manager being kept waiting to shake hands once a game has finished, while his opposite number finishes hugging and kissing his players and staff in celebration of their victory. I sense this was exactly what happened after the final whistle, and why Chris Hughton tore a strip off Klopp immediately after the game and quite rightly.
What is happening to the traditions of this great game? Has winning and money destroyed everything we hold dear? The convention is we shake hands immediately after a game because it brings closure to the occasion, and it starts with the managers. The game's conventions are bigger than any manager or player, and if either can't be bothered to perform the duty, I suggest they find another profession that can afford their bad manners.Oh I say his vision there was lovely

Only caught up with the match last night
We thoroughly deserved that. Going forward we looked exceptionally good once again
The front 3 of Salah, Coutinho & Firmino would grace any team imo. Their one touch combination play and movement when at pace is fantastic to watchBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Every game would have about ten pens if they were given. And even then that one would be a soft decision.Modifying post.

The officiating nowadays is absolutely horrendous, it's by far the worst ever and while I think a scandal will come out one day a lot of it is just ineptitude at times. Clattenburg has just come out and admitted he let Spurs get away with murder when their famous title challenge when down the toilet because it was "theatre" and he didn't want Spurs blaming him for losing the title so went in with a gameplan to let them get away with about 50 leg break attempts. Bizarre, just do your job you cunt.

Its just so totally football to make hard work of video refereeing.
Just make it refs call for decisions where they arent sure, and send it upstairs for review.
It works perfectly well in Rugby (and even when there is still some doubt you realise that nothing more could be done to achieve a decision). You will reduce contentious decisions by easily 90%. It also means that even subconsciously refs are less likely to be swayed plus knowing they have this as back up will surely reassure them to putting in better performances. Look at the Bournemouth Southampton game the ref admitted he got a decision wrong at the end. That admission is of absolutely no consolation.
If anything it will add to the excitement. As the current 'they even themselves out over the season' system is ****.Last edited by Buzzo; 04-12-17, 12:32 PM.Modifying post.

Add Mane to that mix as well - it blows away virtually every team in Europe in an attacking sense.Originally posted by Lecter View PostOnly caught up with the match last night
