I remember him for being injured for loads of games, then we would play Spurs, he would get off of his death bed and have a worldie.
Then after the game he would go back to being injured again
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Seen him a few times out and about drinking, he's the best looking alcoholic I've ever seen. Used to be playing games drunk or hungover and be sensational which is a crazy thought. Years ago he walked through Coppers nightclub with a absolutely cracking blonde bird on his arm, the whole place start singing Uh Ah Paul McGrath.Last edited by danperkins; 23-11-22, 07:06 AM.Comment

Villa were title contenders for some of his time there.
A number of our own players that get regarded as having been top class and club legends could be dismissed in the same manner you did with McGrath if we judge them by the team/era they played in or their medal count.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Villa may have finished seconds a couple of times but from what i can remember they weren't in with a shout of actually winning the title. They also were a bit of a YoYo club. Second one season mid table the next.Villa were title contenders for some of his time there.

My point being if McGrath had applied himself properly he could have been regarded as one of the best. Instead we get some romanticised bollocks of him being a good CB whilst playing hanging / pissed.Comment
