If they'd focus on actually being half competent at their jobs I don't think this new rubbish they're trying to instill would be much of an issue.

As usual though they focus on the wrong things.

It’s all a distraction for the absolute abysmal standard of refereeing in this league.

Well the Ref started the game really well by letting Gordon get off with a blatant foul and punishing Trent for throwing the ball back onto the pitch. Carded Darwin for the same, but let Gordon off. Joelinton fouled all game, was warned and just carried on.

So to describe the ref’s performance as a “****ing joke” was factually correct.

Not sure if they documented Pawson trying pull Virgil back and being told “get your hands off me” - if players can’t touch the ref, then that should be a reciprocal rule.

****ing sick of the piss poor standard of officiating in what they claim is the best league in the world. It’s still the same ****e, bent, old boys club it ever was.
We are here for a good time not a long time....

Meanwhile there’s no issue with Bruno Fernandez giving sarcastic interviews about how they’re waiting for an apology from the ref etc.

3 games in, and I think the standard in refereeing has gone way down- and it was already poor.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

hardly the same thing is it?

agreed. the standard is atrocious. i'd argue var has made it worse but no surprise when its remit isn't even to 'get decisions correct'

We seem to get an awful hard time from refs - it’s hardly all related to Tierney? Some of the decisions and inconsistencies in our games are ridiculous…… but then again I imagine all clubs feel this way!

I think that is probably the case but consistency is a massive issue. Kicking the ball away and mouthing off at the ref are both dissent, waving imaginary yellow cards falls into the same category.

The ref booked TAA for throwing the ball onto the pitch, but didn't book Gordon for kicking the ball away a minute later, before booking Nunez for the same thing, we hear about the telling the ref to book someone being a yellow card, we got one for that in one of the first 2 games, Joelinton did it twice and got away with it, and was on at the ref for most of the game.

I wouldn't be surprised if they extend VVD's ban for his actions after the red card, and I wouldn't have a problem with that if that is something that is applied consistently, but like the kicking the ball away and waving the imaginary yellow cards we all know that it won't be.

Said 1000,000 times by the rugby watchers on here; they could sort out most of the VAR issues by broadcasting the dialogue between officials to provide more transparency which in turn ought to lead to more consistency.

But I don't think it's allowed under IFAB rules - well not 'live' conversations anyway.

There was some chat a few months back about Howard Webb of all people (''yes Sir Alex another 10 minutes you say . . '') canvassing the clubs about releasing audio after games (which is allowed), but that seems to have died a death, presumably in case they look bad when their managers or players are acting up.

i think the difference in rugby, whilst not perfect, the process is at least trying to get the correct outcome. i dont believe the same can be said about var.

they'd struggle to broadcast a game with the current behaviour of all participants

Will it be a one or two match ban? Virg did call Brooks "a ****ing joke" if my lip reading skills are correct. Gave Pawson a piece of his mind too as he went off down the tunnel.
The prick was putting hands on him trying to usher him down the tunnel, pretty sure Virg said "Don't ****ing touch me".

They'll slug him with a 4 match ban or some **** because they can and clearly have an agenda against us.

The club needs to stand up for itself here. Its getting beyond a joke now.
