He's got some next level Jedi defensive skills.
Rather than always committing to get a foot in he will often just get his body in the way and guide the player away from goal, maybe the odd body check, and happy to use a bit of strength when needed.
I love the way he bounces these wimps off him like swatting flies.
Not buying him from celtic was a massive bottle job by the club.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.Comment

Think the bigger adjustment, once he is gone, will be how we build play from the back.
A hell of a lot of our play begins with VVD, though this season he has been able to pass some of that responsibility to Gravenberch.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Thanks a lot, Perks.
But let's try to keep the thread about Virgil instead.

He has it all and imo the way he plays and with how intelligent and instinctual he is, he still has another 3 years at the very top level.Comment

Yup - it's only his pace that might suffer with age. With a fast centre back along side him he's good for another 3 years. He's also fit and relatively injury free, which you didn't mention. I always compare him to Hansen, who by the same age had shot knees, but still went on to 36.Really?Comment

PSG bound?
These contract shenigans aren't exactly helping anyone right now. He's the captain and he's refusing to commit. Not a great message for his team mates.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He wonComment
