Presumably the first led to the second and third in that the ligaments weaken through repeated injury.

Both knees actually FB. Did the left when I was 19 and then the right not long after returning. Hung up my boots at 23 after 4 knee ops in 4 years

Was over 20 years ago now, so a distant memory. I really hope VVD avoids such a serious injury. Wouldn't wish an ACL reco on anyone (Well maybe Richarlison).

Nah mate. It was amateur footy and I was no world beater. But I loved playing and it was a pretty crap time in my life. It did develop my mental resilience though .

Pickford is just exceptionally rash and he has done stuff like that before. I genuinely don’t think he tried to do VVD but his clumsiness made it worse.

I don't think he meant to do him as such, he's just a ****ing moron and made a shocking challenge. Looking at it today with no beer in me and a clearer head, it's still an utter disgrace to it's not a red, it just doesn't make any sense. There is no explaining that away and we need to push this publicly because enough is enough, there has to be some accountability. Two awful var decisions today and somebody needs to answer for them, the worst thing is we didn't get the 3 points and we have a likelihood of the best CB in the world being out for the season and regardless is Pickford is pulled up or whatever.. nothing can change the result and the outcome. Absolutely furious!

Obviously we don't know how long VVD is out for and I don't want to be over dramatic but this has probably ruined our chances of winning the title. Even if he is 'only' out for a couple of months or even if we are able to bring in a new CB as cover in the January window his loss probably pushes us from serious title challengers to also rans battling for a CL spot such is his influence on the team.

I hope the Dutch FA speak up too. One of their best players will be unavailable to them and there's no repercussions on the person that caused it.
