I've seen enough now - he's the best centre half I've ever seen at Liverpool. I turned 13 in 1990 so saw Hansen, but was young, and there's Hyypia too, but he tops the lot imo. He's like a computer generated centre half ffs, all the attributes rated 20 on Footy Manager.

Hansen for me was better, he would absolutely piss the modern game where centreforwards cant be over physical and the game is about bringing the ball out of defence

VVD is exceptionally good though and I think if I was picking an all time XI he would probably sneak in at centrehalf alongside Hansen

He was imperious last night though alongwith Robertson who I would say is the best leftback we have had since Steve Nicol

Koulibaly and Manolas would be the closest to him in the game at present imo.

Both, like VVD, seem to excel at all aspects of being a CB as well as being very comfortable getting further up the pitch.

I remember making a CB on ISS Pro Evolution on the Ps1. Maximum height, maximum body build, max stats on everything. Even they weren't as good as VVD.

I saw Hansen and Lawrenson, though I was young, but I don't ****ing care lads, Virgil is the best we've seen. The man is absolutely outrageous.
