Was that before he moved to Italy? He was my favourite player along with David White. Football was magical back then.

well now thanks to this meandering thread i just spent way too long at work trying to find video of the open-play two-touch volley that mark draper scored in the far corner off the outside of his boot that was a contender for strike of the year the year tony yeboah scored that screamer against us. never found it, but there was a terrific angle that showed the curl of it.

that was the first year we got a one-hour MOTD-style highlights package in the town where i lived. didn't get anything at all before that. was probably 2001 by the time i ever heard any of their voices. there were no interviews or anything.

I remember a time when the only live football you ever saw was cup finals and tournament football. I was telling my daughter this the other day and she was mind blown. Even funnier. This conversation was because I had to go somewhere in my car while Liverpool were playing. She said to me you know you can listen to matches on the radio lol.

I remember a game Ireland played Italy in which at full-time, Franco Baresi made a beeline for Paul McGrath to ask him to swap shirts...Baresi knew how good McGrath was...class recognised class!
There were many times that Paul McGrath played midfield for Ireland & still didn't look out of place! could the same be said for VVD or others?
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

                        Especially if she's not Irish.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I used to watch the PL on the big screen TVs when I worked at an electrical retailer when I was 15/16 perhaps? This was back when Ipswich and Oldham was in the PL! I wasn't really aware of anything outside of England to be honest.
