Presumably depends on what is said in the referees report about why he didn't card him. Although I think it is likely that the push will be lost with the allegation he made

What I don't understand is hob h ref hasn't at least booked him for pushing him into the crowd?

I don't understand how Holgate drags the ref back with both hands and escaped a red

If Firmino had racially abused Holgate and the ref had heard it he would have to have sent Firmino off. So you have to assume that the referee didn't hear anything of that nature.

And seeing that the ref was standing between them then it's safe to say nothing was said. Does what the ref's mic catch get recorded by the 4th official?

I'm not sure whether the mic is recording or if it is just a feed to the earpiece of the 4th official. I wondered if the ref asked the 4th official if he heard anything (that the ref missed) over the microphone. If the microphone is recorded then it should have proof of what was said and would make things easy for the FA

Could be. If he did and 4th official didn't hear anything then chances are that he'll not have a case to answer

Only other possible explanation for a racist comment being made but not punished, is that Holgate knew the racist word used, but both the Ref nor the 4th official did.

It's taking the shine off what was a perfect night

We score a dodgy penalty cancelling out there's from the league game. Their record signing equalises and gets their hopes up. Ineffective Rooney gets subbed early doors.
