I seem to be one of the only ones that thought Matip had a good game. Much quicker passing and always positive... anyone noticed the way every single pass he bypassed Gomez or pushed forward. Definitely instructed to he more progressive. All of our back line were sharper and quicker with their passing.. None of this slow side to side bull ****.
FWIW Matip has 161 successful passes... more than any Liverpool player this season.

I agree. Strode into midfield a few times too and broke lines. He's not perfect, we all know he's too casual sometimes and maybe a bit weak, but he's got a higher ceiling than the other two and the best partner for Voovde imo.Originally posted by danperkins View PostI seem to be one of the only ones that thought Matip had a good game. Mike fackin Kelly. Those were the days.
It was Hodgson.
The style was encapsulated one afternoon when Daniel Agger tried to play his way out of defence. "Just ****ing launch it!" came the rebuke from the technical area. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I disagree, running out from the back into acres of space against a side sitting so deep is fair enough, it was what was needed, but he looks shaky as ****. He's a streak of piss when it comes to battling with strikers and had couple of wobbles tonight in a game with no threat. He's like Rio Ferdinand if Rio Ferdinand had the physical prowess of Vladimir Smicer. I think we know by now that our CBs defending is more important than them passing the ball around accurately and he looks the weakest of the four this season imo. VVD can give us the cultured outlet from the back and Matip would solely be my back up for him.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostI agree. Strode into midfield a few times too and broke lines.
