For a team full of supposed football excellence to rely on borderline gamesmanship is just cuntish.
Also sick to the back teeth with the Kane wankfest since the game.
2nd one wasn't a pen. Contact doesn't make the decision final, just look at undeliberate handball. It's not definitive

Kane cheated, the ref fell for it. That's all.

2nd one, Lamela is offside as already mentioned in the thread. Marginal and tough one to expect the officials to see, but still offside therefore not a pen.
Sadly lots of players do this, even ours

Call it what you want, clever play, playing for it, cheating, diving etc..

Refs will fall for it time after time, maybe the laws have even encouraged this now

Yeah ours try it too sometimes (although Spurs were relentless with it yesterday).

It's just this 'he gave him the opportunity' crap pundit line that seems to have become popular in recent seasons, drives me mad.

Well, now we have retrospective bans in place for diving but they are rarely if ever dished out (i can't think of any). As if they are going to ban Lamela for diving as it undermines the officials which is held above anything.

It was clearly a tactic by Spurs they were going over an awful lot 2nd half in and around the box

karius didnt foul kane for the first pen, kane dragged a leg to snag on karius arm, you can see him alter his stride. so defo a dive.

also, kane was offside before the ball was played, once its played and as it travels towards lovren then before lovren touches it kane is offside, and directly in front of the goalie so is active and directly involved in the play.

and lovren touches the ball, does this then constitute a back pass so kane no longer offside?

                either way, kane still dived.

Van Dijk one was a clear pen, and a terrible one too, I'm sorry. Look at the first replay here, If Lovren had done that he'd be closing his social media accounts right now. The first pen was a ****in shambles, and I'm sick of all these decisions going against us, but - Karius saved it, didn't he?

Watford, Newcastle, Everton, West Brom, sure we got royally ****ed, but yesterday was on us. We score a spectacular goal to take the lead in the 91st minute and it's just not enough for this team.

Terrible 2nd half. Completely ran out of steam, then we got to bring on the best possible subs and they were ****ing terrible. That's the squad for the remainder of the season. Right now we all have twose two clowns to take attention away from that, but it is a problem.

Positives are Karius slowly finding his confidence, and Salah... What a ****in player. It's heartbreaking that you score a goal like that in stoppage time and it doesn't get to be the winner.

I am not sure the 2nd is a definite pen if the first one isnt

Its almost a carbon copy of the first

Kane dives into Karius and Lamela dives/jumps into Van Dijks boot

Great gutsy performance, horrible decisions throughout the game aside, we played really well out there for most of that and even when we looked dead on our feet for what ever reason, we held on, it took those ****ing referee decisions to give Spurs anything from that game. Hendo was immense for me, hes looking like him old self, gaz tank aside

Second pen gets chalked off for offside if that game has VAR.

The more I watch games the more compelling the case for VAR is

VAR is a must imo. It's all fun and games until your team gets ****ed.

Are we not going to talk about the linesman celebrating their first pen? WTF was that all about?

I've seen officials celebrating a goal when they've waved 'play on' and the advantage has worked out, a reciprocal pat on the back so to speak, but what the lino did there was just odd and I can't get my head round why he would fist pump Spurs getting a pen.

Another game ruined by terrible officiating. I'm still can't believe what they did yesterday. Yes that was weird with that linesman.
