I reckon he'll be no better than Markovic here.

Sounds silly but he reminds me of Matt Le Tissier.

He looks sensational in the Championship but on reflection, will he be any better than our fringe players?

The thing is with a loan (ideally) is that the player gets first team experience and proves himself worthy of a place in the team. If they don’t prove themself then you hope that they do well enough to make a few quid from a sale.

Wilson has shown he is can score goals regularly and should surely be enough minutes for him easy to get a ‘shot’ () at the first team. If he doesn’t then it’s hard to know what more he needs to do. If he is sold on then other talented young players may think twice about joining us if they are expected to go down the loan route.

Even if he does no better than Markovic on the pitch I think he will do better, though he (Wilson) may not be the star here that he is in the championship, but markovic set the bar fairly low.

Wilson cost £20m less, and will be on much lower wages, and if he doesn't make it here there is a decent chance someone will give us some money for him, which would mean at least financially we'll have done better from him that Markovic.

I think we'll give him a new contract and send him on loan to a PL club next season.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

At the moment we have no real cover for the areas that he plays so he at leat gives us an option.

Who are the fringe players that he is no better than? (I am not saying that you are right or wrong just don't really see anyone to compare to)

He just signed one before going to Derby.

I think Maddison is a good comparison for him, he put up good numbers for Norwich last season and Leicester paid £25m for him.

I think that we should keep him here for the first half of the season and consider loaning him out if he's not getting game time or struggling.

I know, but impressively the club have been quick to reward good form in recent years, so I think we'll want him to get some top flight experience and in order to keep him happy we'll offer him a better contract.

I'd like to see him given a shot too, but I've said from the start that I think he'll be loaned again next year.

If he's had a year and a half of good form in the championship the only thing left really is to loan him to another PL club, at that level it is about an ability to play in the system. I don't really see any PL team that he is likely to go to playing a similar system to us, so I'm not sure how much he gains from that. Personally I would prefer to try and get him used to our system.

I think that we need a backup in the wide areas so the alternative to using Wilson is buying someone else, if we do that we likely push him further away from the first team.

Not wanting to piss on chips but he needs to show more in games for him to get a chance with us imo.

He’s a bit of a drifter with a wand of a left foot.

At Derby he’s standing out - but this a team which has Keogh playing for it. And he’s appalling.

How much of him not showing more is down to the fact that he his playing in a team with appalling players? If you put him in our side how much more would he show?

The Madison comparison is a good one I think....

I think that a loan move to Leicester would be a good move too....
