The thing is with a loan (ideally) is that the player gets first team experience and proves himself worthy of a place in the team. If they don’t prove themself then you hope that they do well enough to make a few quid from a sale.
Wilson has shown he is can score goals regularly and should surely be enough minutes for him easy to get a ‘shot’ (
) at the first team. If he doesn’t then it’s hard to know what more he needs to do. If he is sold on then other talented young players may think twice about joining us if they are expected to go down the loan route.

If he's had a year and a half of good form in the championship the only thing left really is to loan him to another PL club, at that level it is about an ability to play in the system. I don't really see any PL team that he is likely to go to playing a similar system to us, so I'm not sure how much he gains from that.
