Starting tonight against Forest. Worth a watch while we cold turkey until Friday.

        Great Save!

A strike of top quality from Derby's Harry Wilson, and it needs a great save from Costel Pantilimon!

The on-loan Liverpool forward takes it on the volley - hitting it firm and true - but the Forest keeper gets down low to get strong hands on it.

He's a neat and tidy player but hasn't shown any game changing action in his general play. Derby are definitely more cart horse like than I first thought. You can see the frustration in Wilson's face playing with this lot.

Interesting! I saw his goal for Wales vs Ireland but wasn’t aware how well he was doing for Derby. The prem is a big step up and with us looking for a striker in the summer... doesn’t seem like he’s got a path to the first team yet. Maybe he changes that over the next six months.

That left peg though ... he does unleash some crackers.

He's better than Beckham but in fairness that doesn't say a lot because Beckham is the most overrated player in existence

Beckham probably had better hair but that's about it.

I'm assuming most of us would be happy to see him return and get some games for us next season? Where does he get his minutes though and will he get enough to continue his development?

We are lacking in cover in the wide attacking areas which seems ideal for him, is he good enough for us not to buy someone else to cover there? I am assuming our big summer purchases are likely to include another forward likely as a replacement for Sturridge but that might not directly affect Wilson, if we replace Sturridge with a Mane or Salah type player that might limit the minutes Wilson gets.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I think he'll need time here eventually or will need to be moved on. As he's a freebee, it'll be very low risk to add him to the squad and used as and when. If he makes the step up then he'll be a great squaddie

Wilson + NEW FORWARD + Shaqiri

Sturridge (out of contract) and Origi to be moved on IMO.

Even though we have Shaqiri, Salah and Mane are rarely rested. I don't know if that would change if we had Wilson or not. I get the feeling that to develop fully Wilson would probably need more that 15 mins here and 20 there plus the odd league cup game. Just wondered if he is good enough or if we would be willing to rotate the others somewhat to give him game time?

It depends on Klopp's view of Wilson during pre-season of 2019, but I think it'd allow us more rotation and flexibility.

Let's say Wilson is kept in the squad, I think Klopp would treat him like other players, in that they won't start until they have fully integrated into our way of playing. His spells at Hull and Derby will allow him to have matured as a footballer to an extent. We'd then finish that moulding process. I wouldn't too be worried about lack of minutes initially as a result.

I think it'll be a bonus to have him around to finish his development. With our move toward 4-2-3-1, he'd potentially get more games than we think.
