Wonder what he’ll do. Hendo is nailed on, wor Emre tends to be a big game god beast and was a monster at home v them, the Ox was also great at home v them and scored.
Yeah, he relishes the challenge for sure. He just seems to know how to operate against better players and is a clam head in the bigger emotive games.

I'd play Emre also, so I am thinking.

Can - Henderson - Wijnaldum in the midfield.

Any sort of lead going to the away leg, and I give us a chance. Fancy us to score away for sure.

Also for them they have the Sterling issue, he was booed off the park and had to be removed from Robbos pocket last time we played.

This time, he will get an even hotter reception. I wouldn't be surprised to see Pep put him on the bench.

Really? Can you show me an example? I don’t recall responding to any of your comments for ages without a smile or a laugh.

I don't think we can do cagey. We need to go full pelt and if we concede so be it. We are more than capable of scoring at their place. The away goals is a concern especially playing at home first. Let's hope we turn up and get at them.

We also need to rest players against Everton. City will be swopping their entire team imo. Now's the time to rotate with 4th almost secured, it's champions league or bust.

not sure they will change much, the chance to win the title at Old Trafford!

City are capable of putting 4 or 5 past any team on their day and that could well have happened at the Etihad, meaning the tie would be over before it even reaches Anfield. With their record at Anfield and the atmosphere, we could well do that to them too. Any sort of win though gives us the advantage going into second leg and we'll always have a good chance against any team that comes at us. Like you say, away goals could play a big part too, so if we need to go for it second leg to get an extra away goal, we've nothing to lose (just a shame we don't really have to players on the bench to change it up or go gung-ho).

Can't see us keeping a clean sheet at Anfield though. 3-1 I'd take.

I think our best chance to go through is by blowing them away at Anfield and taking a two or three goal lead into the second leg where they'll come at us and we can sit deep and hit them on the counter. We haven't had much of a chance to play counter-attacking football this year, but we're still one of the best going around. They'll have to push up and that exposes their weak point - the defence. I fancy Mane, Salah and Firmino against Otamendi and co with space to run into.

Emre Can losing race to be fit for Liverpool vs Man City
Jurgen Klopp had hoped the Germany international would return to training over the weekend

                                By James Pearce
                                09:01, 3 APR 2018 UPDATED 10:25, 3 APR 2018

Emre Can is losing his race to be fit for Liverpool's Champions League quarter-final first leg with Manchester City at Anfield on Wednesday night.

Jurgen Klopp had hoped the Germany international would return to training over the weekend and be ready to face Pep Guardiola's side.

However, Can still hasn't trained with his team-mates at Melwood as he continues to have treatment on the back injury which forced him off in last month's 5-0 win over Watford.

The 24-year-old is running out of time to prove his fitness and his absence would be a major blow to Klopp.

Can, who is out of contract this summer, played a starring role when Liverpool beat Manchester City 4-3 in the Premier League back in January.

Without him, Klopp will be selecting a midfield trio out of Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Liverpool's options have been further depleted by Adam Lallana's hamstring injury. The Reds are still awaiting a precise timescale but the England international is unlikely to play again this season.

Big blow to lose Can for this imo
