Anyone thinking of flying somewhere and picking up a rental car and driving that to Kiev, or at least into Ukraine - don't.

You can't drive a rental car over the Ukrainian border, I found that out the hard way last night when our plans we're placed right in the fire. We exhausted every other option other than paying for a private hire taxi to take us from Budapest (where we're flying into) to the town in Ukraine 7 hours away from Kiev (where we'll catch the train the next day).

How much is that taxi going to cost? Can you not get something like an interrail pass to get you from Hungay to a border town then train Into Ukraine?

absolute nightmare all this, no way i'm chancing crossing the border.

not possible to get anything decent flying into the country, i've looked at flying on thursday to anywhere in europe, then connecting on friday/saturday, not too bad, but getting back is a right pain. I'm knackered just looking at the prospect of it

Yep people who haven't been all season. I've asked for help and just get messages saying I'll take your tickets.

It really is a stupid system. I know that UEFA want to move it around Europe but there really is no thought for the fans, but all their buddies will be fine because they have had everything sorted for months as the majority of people there will have been going regardless of who was playing. The people who care the most are the ones getting shafted.
