That was my initial thought too, but Spurs duffed them in the group stage last year and it counted for nothing. Rather get them in the KO's when it matters most.

We are going to have CL games sandwiched in between difficult league games against Spurs, Chelsea, City, Arsenal and Utd. Unbelievable how that worked out. Anyone who's happy for us to face good teams at this stage need their head banging. I want a reasonably straight forward group so it doesn't disrupt our league challenge. Group boxed off early and players fresh.

I've done this twice, not got a good result, one very difficult and one semi hard.

I genuinely have no idea how we can be ranked in pot 3 - we've been in 2 European finals since Klopp took over!

But all this talk of a group of death... we're the ones who everyone else will be fearing being drawn against.
