I think I'm starting to hate him.

His voice and choppy aggressive manner really grates on me. He feels the need to express how clever he is and wants to come out of klopps shadow and get the recognition he thinks he deserves. His book has become a training manual for all our opponents and we are suffering because of it.
He should have kept his head down and stuck to putting the cones out.

Not sure its peps fault we have not signed any midfielders. He hasnt been here for much of that time.

Any change to our style of play and intensity is forced by that, surely?
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

Not to say that he definitely is or isn’t complicit, but Pep returned in June 2018.
He’s definitely been here for the period in which we’ve things slip.

To be fair, it’s only this year and the year we lost our whole defence in the middle of the pandemic we’ve slipped. Last year we did something almost unprecedented. Think we are overthinking a little.

The year we lost the defence we were actually only poor for a 7-8 week period. Either side of that we put up title contention form.

Our issues now appear to be much more long term.

The departures of Edwards, Graham, Ward and others shows that things have changed dramatically behind the scenes. I think that believing that everything is running smoothly and according to plan is a little blinkered.

Pitch issues are physical and too many games of football. Not just us who are having to put up about that. As for the other things going on behind the scenes no one has a clue what is happening.

I’d be worried if Klopp leaves us at the end of the year.

Anyone who had Warnock on comms yesterday would have heard him say that Lijnders is the mastermind behind our new formation. Maybe it's common knowledge, but it was the first I heard of it. So apparently Pep pleaded with Klopp to play the box formation and was so confident of it working, he said he would give up his whole salary if it didn't (which will no doubt irk certain fans when this anecdote is retold many times ).

What I also found interesting was that we did indeed change to get the best out of Trent, as this was key to Pep's vision. I'm sure this will delight Baitman, his idol Pep completely changing the whole system to suit his favorite player.

I know people still aren't sold on this formation and this will do nothing to change their opinion of Pep, but at the end of the day, it's a results game and so far the results speak for themselves. Klopp keeps talking about LFC 2.0, but lets not forget LFC 1.0 were arguably worse at the back for a few years before we finally got it right.

And finally, before Pep is accused of just copying other Pep, he's favored this set up long before City introduced it and played a similar system when he was youth team manager, again playing Trent in midfield.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I remember reading about this a while ago, we were trying to adopt it earlier a couple of seasons ago(?) but we didn't have the players for it.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

It will no doubt be one of those things I was completely oblivious to, but now that I'm aware, I'll hear it everywhere.

So annoyed at that City game is after the Internationals as I really wanted to see how this formation would hold up against them.

3-Box-3 is a Louis Van Gaal Ajax speciality, they won the champions league with one of the great Ajax teams using that formation in 1995

                                Van Der Saar

                                Reiziger Blind Frank De Boer
                                Rijkaard David’s
                                Seedorf Litmanen
                                Overmars Ronald De Boer George

(My mind is full of useless info)

Pep L spoke of using that when in our u-23 team and tried a variation when he bombed at Nijmegen. For me it’s so not a Klopp way of playing and more of a galaxy brain **** to get Trent more on the ball….. we win the lot with Trent at RB and now his assists are way down on what they used to be ffs

I don’t like it - we always look unbalanced and it causes so much stress on Konate. The worst thing is when Trent doesn’t play they shoehorn Joe Gomez into midfield and he struggles badly

Stick to what worked and just improve the players who couldn’t run anymore
