Considering there was only probably a dozen posts, that's some stretch

Overall, it was a good game to have. Far more needle in that than playing Paddy Whack Utd, and will probably continue in the next. Started well in the first few mins, but a young City side grew into the half and had the better of the attacking moments without really troubling Karius too often. They probably should have had a pen to be fair.
Enjoyed the game as it went on, especially with the introduction of Mane, Salah etc, from when we had free reign in their half with the ability to move through their inexperienced lines at will.
VVD looked a bit rusty, with far too many stray balls and looked like his concentration wasn't 100%, Jones had a few decent moments but nothing really to show for it, bit aimless up top in the first half (but anything in comparison to our main men usually is), but overall most acquitted themselves to a decent level, though the finishing team looked more the part naturally.

Still waiting to see what's in reserve behind that main threat. BSD tries, but it's hard to see him establishing himself right now, ditto for Origi, so the chances of both being around this season are minimal, moreso now if Sturridge is hanging around.
Bobby is still going to be the glue that holds our attacking philosophy together, and while it'll be interesting to see what support Shaq can offer from the bench in attacking areas, we are still a bit one dimensional in personnel - not an unsurprising fact as these guys are really among the best at their craft, but there are times we'll need an attacking option to slot in without adversely affecting our threat.
Yes it was a decent game. However, you still used it to diss Solanke. Even with your back tracking here, you are still dissing him with your dumb ****ing nicknames

    FFS grow up!!!

Saturday's match is at my alma mater, the stadium where my university plays football (Capacity: 109,901), and home to many memories for me... it's also the town where I was married, and 45 MI from my home town. I am so sad not to be able to get back to Ann Arbor for this one, but if anyone is going, AMA and I'll be happy to help where I can if any questions. I hope LFC fans enjoy the Big House...

Fun fact: When the stadium is full, it has more people than the 7th largest city in the state of Michigan.

That stadium is bonkers. What's the view like from the top? Can you see anything?
          Oh I don't know.

It might be difficult to to Shaqiri from the back row, especially if he’s playing on the far side

The sight lines are amazing as the stadium (despite appearances) is actually pretty vertical... people use fish eye lenses to photograph it and fit as much of it in as they can, so it distorts the shape in pictures... Also, as you can see, the touch line seats are right on top of the side lines for American football and those walls are made of brick (interested to see Milner go in on the touch line here-- the walls will be close to accommodate a proper pitch size), so fans are right on top of the field despite it being massive. The real difference is bleachers with painted on numbers, no "seats" or chairs, so fans are very tight on top of one another on the bleachers. One of the drawbacks of a huge, open bowl shape like this is that the sound goes straight up in the air, so the massive crowd noise used to go straight up and out of the stadium- it was loud, but felt like white noise. A few years back they installed luxury boxes across from the old press box, and now the sound bounces around and gets trapped in the stadium and it is much better, but its still is not as loud as many other stadiums, just because of the design.

Back tracking Interesting that you dismiss said back tracking. Feel free to engage with it rather then concentrate on the regurgitation of someone else's throwaway three-letter nickname.

Guess you can't be accused of putting an 'endearment' on anyone ?

So that's Clyne and Matip, we could use TAA back soon.

Kicking off over minor comments in a preseason win against the current PL champions does not bode well for the season.
