I always find it amusing that the ‘wool’ tag only fits supporters and not the multinational teams that they support. Large swathes of the global fanbase are built upon the players across generations that came in from further afield than the city from which the club (and all clubs for that matter) are based. There seems to be zero issues with this representation among the ‘diehards’.

Or that many of the diehards don't have to go too far back in their own family trees to find Welsh, Scots or Irish blood.

Told them that they weren't even a "maghullyback" and were a bumpkin idiot from Lydiate.

Then won a bet that I lived closer to the ground than them.

So I found this interesting. I think he's saying England could have a more attacking 6 in Jones for some games but he definitely rates him which given he's worked closely with him is something.

Yeah, I don't feel like that, I'm from the same area as Quansah and therefore a woolyback. I think there is value in having a Scouser in the side, it helps ground the team with the supporters and the city, but agree about unhealthy attitudes to those coming into the city for games down the M56. But it's true that Quansah is a fellow wool.

Yeah don't see Jones moving on & no need to move him on. He does have talent but needs to improve on certain things in his game if he's ever going to be a regular starter. He's technically sound & works hard but is just too slow to move the ball & gets caught in possession more often than necessary. With lots of comings and goings in the summer, keeping Jones as a motivated squad player would be a good move, he's going nowhere imo.
