Just get Bellingham in & that's our midfield sorted for the next decade & probably tempt Klopp to stay on as manager

Phew.

I'd say he is like elite level Zidane but at the age of 21. So better really.

There's definitely something in the Jones/Zizou comparison, I think it is the way he keeps control of the ball when turning - just feels reminiscent of the French baldie headbutter.James Philip Milner Fanclub #1

He tries things the other midfields dont do, and sometimes loses the ball when they dont come off.
I wonder if he does those things against instructions, as we hardly ever see midfielders having long shots. I always assumed they were under instruction not to.
It does make him feel like a breath of fresh air and adds a bit of unpredictability that we seem to be missing. Less machine like. I think that its good to be able to mix it up a bit.
I do definitely see a bit of Zidane in the way he moves... although I am not quite sure he is at that level yet. Still young enough to develop into a top tier player. In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

Our midfield has been too beige for ages, no one doing risky or adventurous stuff.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

We've been crying out for a Coutinho since Coutinho left. Harvey Elliot looked to be that player, and assuming last night wasn't a one off; Jones can be that player too
It did seem like a marked improvement on his past performances though. I don't think we should be proclaiming him the messiah after one game, but if he's been instructed to play more creatively and this is the result, long may it continueI saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

I read that he missed the England U21 game with a knock but they were hoping that he will be available for the game on Monday.Originally posted by Fuzzy View PostIs he injured again?
Also I didn't know Lee Carsley was England U21 manager
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Deserves a shout out after last night. He's come into the team at a great time, much needed. Brilliant last night I thought. He's in a funny place, needs to kick on and to become the great player he could easily be.
I think he's been in a tricky situation. He has so much natural flair, and really shines when he's feeling cocky as ****, but I think Klopp wanted him to cut some of that out and become almost more Gini like - better tactically, more disciplined, and I reckon Jones almost took that stuff too far...started playing safe and lost some of that swag. If he can get the balance right he can spend his career here. Great to have a midfield option who can go past people, play progressive passes and score goals. He's still only 20. Lots more to come imo. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Yeah he was linking up great with Robbo and Jota. Top performance.
Decent analysis of where he went awry also, and he really suffered from having to play that period where we kept losing. No crowds. And a weird run of form for the team.
He needs to show some consistency for sure. He has the potential to be amazing.Modifying post.

I stand over what I said when he’ll be one of the best in the world in 5 years. He has everything including height - he just needs to find balance and we have a 10/15 goal a year midfielderOriginally posted by Shaggy View PostDeserves a shout out after last night.
