The debates I see on here and social media tend to be, 'he's ****', 'never gonna be good enough', 'not LFC standard', 'get rid'.

Only have to check this very thread. Plus the comments on social media when Jones renewed his contract were sickening.
I think as fans it's easy to say someone is **** when they are raw because we as fans don't appreciate the good stuff that the manager sees when they aren't playing well. I have liked Jones for a while, I'm not saying I haven't been critical of him in the past, two specific criticisms I had of him at various points were that he held on to the ball too long at times, and sometimes slowed the game down, but I thought there was a player in there somewhere, and am glad that it has started to show and he's looking a proper player consistently.

I think the fact that Klopp held onto him and kept giving him chances was because Klopp knew what he was capable of, if uou look at the promising young players who Klopp has given chances to on a regular basis they tend to have developed into decent players, similarly the youngsters who we the fans have called for to have more game time and haven't been given it don't seem to develop to the level required (Brewster, Wilson, Woodburn etc).

It's part of why I believe Elliott is coming good, and despite having some questions about aspects of Gravenberch's game at the moment, (also relatively young player) the fact that Klopp keeps giving him minutes suggests to me that he thinks there is a player in there, and I am willing to trust that.

He's performing a role that Gini played for us - arguably he's got the potential to be better than him too.

The work rate, the pressing, the ability on the ball (control and dribbling), and short range passing are all elite level. He's also pretty physical too - so while you'd never, ever claim he was some kind of enforcer he's a pretty good unit and doesn't get bullied.

I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

That is a weird one. I always liked the way he held on to the ball when they pass wasn't on, didn't give it away cheaply. I think we try too many passes that just aren't on just to keep the speed up sometimes. Fine margins though I suppose.

And he is so good on the ball. Stays so calm. Barnet stands up to bad weather better than Salahs.

Can't believe the turnaround for the guy. From someone who would dwell on the ball too much and often provide little end product to an awesome midfield machine in the past 9 months. It's not even weird that I punch the air whenever I see his name on the starting sheet.

Unfair on Salah, he is clearly balding and ageing. You're a mean person.

Found another one claiming the same, then realised it linked back to that.

How rich are Arsenal exactly? If they think they can afford our best midfielder WITH an additional English tax?

I love the idea he wants to move South, he's an LFC fan who has come through the youth system, now establishing himself in his boyhood side that is challenging for the title, why would he want to leave?

It's mad cos I talk like this to my mates who support other teams - mostly City and United living where I do - and they just do not see it. In fact I've been laughed at. They obviously don't pay the levels of attention we do, and Jones looks to be moulding his game into a less flashy, more efficient almost grown-up kind of centre mid, but my mates are wrong and we are right.

I think the Euros will come a shade too soon for him - and there's pretty stiff competition - but he will go on to become better than any of them. He's a worldie in the making.
