The Bobby and Ox examples aren’t my opinion, it’s all fact. Go back and see for yourself! Although I’m not sure what you’re arguing with Bobby, because you’re actually agreeing with me? Klopp said he’d be back for Barca, then Newcastle. He wasn’t. Yes, we only saw him again because of the final. That’s what I’m saying! It was never acknowledged he’d be out for weeks at all.

Keita, yes and also Can and Mane in recent years, but these were all towards the end of the season anyway, so it was kind of a given they’d be out for the remainder.

We do have have a recent history of ‘managing’ how much information we reveal with early or mid-season injuries though. Even with Shaq, Klopp since admitted he had issues in the second part of the season but he kept putting him on the bench so as not to make it apparent.
Its smart management. We dont need to know anything as fans. If opposition managers can plan for players being fit, it makes it easier to allow for a plan for them. But if they are constantly unsure when someone will return, they have to plan more and hopefully miss details.

Who cares if Allison is out for the season. Only person who needs to worry is Big Jurgo, and given his recent history with success. I dont doubt him one little bit. The bloke is a winner.
    *Except Michael, who died.

Yep let's put Alisson on the bench and pretend he's not injured.

Totally. I don't mean it as a criticism of the club. I thought the Gomez/Ox injuries were handled perfectly. By the time we realised the real extent of their injuries, we'd already seen other players step in and had continued getting results regardless. So it didn't seem as disastrous as it may have at the outset.

I'll be gutted if Alisson is out long term though. But hopefully over the coming weeks we'll see some assured performances from Adrian and have another trophy in the cabinet. Then maybe the prospect of being without Alisson for a while won't seem quite as bad.

Throw in the fact that injury rehab is not an exact science.

I think the good sign is that it's a calf injury and not the achilles. So the most we're looking at is 8 weeks.

Pepe79 does have a point that some players do tend to disappear inexplicably (Shaqiri, Gomez, Clyne) so I wouldn't be surprised if it was more than a few weeks.

I tore each calf and in both cases couldn't play sports for
                4 months.

                So let's hope it's just a strain...

Yeah, just saw he was wearing an ankle boot... On some dodgy Internet stream.

No idea if it's a lower calf issue or something else altogether. Time will tell.

Probably just to immobilize his foot/ankle to ensure he's not using the calf muscle.

                      Or he's done his achilles

Or its keeping his foot attached to his leg

A boot like that is used for calf strains and tears as well so that doesn't change anything tbh.

                          * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

It could that be that he's got two separate issues; the boot in the instagram pic appears to be on his left foot. If you watch the incident that led to the injury, after kicking the ball with his right foot he rolls over on his left foot then clutches his right calf. The roll on the left foot might have at least tweaked/stretched some ligaments.

It's all gone a bit quiet hasn't it? Surely we know whether its 8 weeks or 8 months by now? We seem to be very vague at times as has been mentioned before.
