It will be interesting to see how they handle this. All the coverage was is about them and spurs and it will be building even more with them playing again. No chance to escape that and the extra attention on the game being against the same opposition will be massive. Surely question marks over pep and another failure in the champions league, plenty of negative. No day off to take time out plus the scum in mid week. All that pressure physically and mentally has to catch up at some point.
And because of the type of game it was, we get to just go along with a nice little break from that intense coverage. We are in form, an extra day plus a lot less focus is perfect. We’ve had plenty of our own and handled it and the little respite must be massive for the team. Let see how city manage all that now.

No chance. They have a new stadium to pay for they NEED champ league football badly. I still think City will spank them on saturday though.Originally posted by vlahka View PostBit worried tottenham might rest some players and focus completely on the CL. Its a chance for a major major trophy. If thats the case we'll have tottenham and UTD both rolling over for city.
Utd will be our best hope of getting a point off City I think.

They defo can't bin the season off and hope to win the CL, they'll be quite big underdogs v us or Barca. That said this game is timed horribly, they can afford to lose 1 and still get top 4 and are ravaged by injuries, think they've got 1 fit central midfielder and with Kane out no room to rotate with any sort of quality up top. And while last night was hilarious they still actually lost which is no use to us Saturday.
Utd has always been my hope really, they are **** too but at least it's an away derby v a team who will need a result.

You can paint these games any way you like. City will want to prove a point, Spurs will be tired, City will be demoralised, Spurs will be re-energised by their advancement to semi-final.
We just don't know until the game starts, and even then, anything can happen!
PS. Laporte looks like he's lost his head, even with an old head next to him!Was muß, das muß.

Agree with this one, Pep's got a job on his hands now to get his players mentally back on track in 3 short days, a lot of those City players looked broken after the final whistle went and their dreams of the CL...their dreams of the Quadruple...went up in smoke.Originally posted by Assassin View PostThe key to winning this match is state of mind. It really is mad to think that if both us and city win our remaining games, City will finish on 98 points which will be the 2nd highest points total in premier league history, only beaten by the record of 100 points which they set last season. We will finish on 97 points, the 3rd highest points total in premier league history. Anyone calling us bottlers are absolute muppets of the highest order.

Bonkers that we're on target to get the 3rd highest PL total ever and could still fall short. As it stands we could top Chelsea's current 2nd place record of 95pts but may get pushed down to 3rd by City.
It'll be gutting if we end up losing out but it'd be cruel for anyone to suggest we didn't deserve to win itI thought the sameOriginally posted by marcus50bucks View PostIt really is mad to think that if both us and city win our remaining games, City will finish on 98 points which will be the 2nd highest points total in premier league history, only beaten by the record of 100 points which they set last season. Was just thinking if Spurs get pumped, Arsenal slip upOriginally posted by Havors View PostNo chance. They have a new stadium to pay for they NEED champ league football badly. I still think City will spank them on saturday though.

away to Wolves (likely) then Utd will be going into the Everton game motivated as well as in pain with Oles rockets up their arses. Chelsea play Burnley on Monday, a bad result there and it's all in Utd's hands against City on Wednesday.
Back up plan! One tit for another.
