In terms of first 11, I think we more than match them, but our first 11 cover is not as good (especially cover for the front 3), meaning that when we rotate to keep the squad fresh, we struggle against teams we should be beating or we are too reliant on certain players and the tiredness starts to show in decision making. That's the benefit of inflated wages I guess, ou can lure good players who are happy to be benched half the time.

I kind of agree with the quality squad depth, but not with the example as it doesn't play out in terms of considering 'teams we should be beating' as we've not lost to anyone in the League.

2 of our 3 draws have been our 2 toughest fixtures - the other Arsenal away.

We are beating the weaker teams. We are beating them pretty comfortably, all you can say is we are not beating them 4 or 5 nil.
        Modifying post.

what will be really sickening is if we go the whole season unbeaten and finish 2nd

Neither team will go unbeaten IMO.

I genuinely didn't think any team could repeat, never mind better the feat achieved by Arsenal, bit City are more than capable of doing so.

I don't see it happening though, there will be at least one slip up. Lyon have already beaten them this year and Wolves gave them a run for their money. There will be at least one fluky result against them along the way or a team like us that shows up and is better on the day.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

If we are pushing them all the way, are they more or less likely to **** up?

I dont see them as being mentally weak, and they have strength in depth. Massive ask just to keep pace.

It is. But the plan is always game to game but long-term i think our only hope would be to be in touching distance when Europe gets to the business end and they could well drop points there as the games get bigger. I don't think we'll go far in Europe this year unless we dive into the Europa.

If we do end up in the Europa then we're nailed on to go all the way to the final given our knack of making the finals that are impossible to get to. It's in Azerbaijan this season.

Arsenal invincibles got 90 points, if we were to get 95 unbeaten and City got 96 getting beat. Who becomes the best team?

It is looking like the refereeing could decide the title to me, it seems like it is the marginal things that are going to count this year.

Early days yet, lots can and will happen between now and the end of the season.
