    They didn't lose to us.

I don't think they'll lose to lesser teams anymore. They are getting their players back and I think they will be difficult to stop.

Let's see how it pans out. We need to carry on to be extremely consistent to fend them off.

They are going to go on a run now, we need to make sure that this result doesn't affect us, we need to go on another run of games where we win 10 or so back to back. I think that the winners will need over 95 points so we probably need at least 13 wins from 17 remaining games.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Got to win the next 5. In that period City host Arsenal and Chelsea so we could easily be 6 points clear and a better position than if we drew last night.

I'd rather be 6 clear with 12 to go than 7 clear with 17 to play

          Yeah.

We finished 25 points behind them last season and they are arguably a better team than last year. So, in any case, it is progress and you can see we are close to their level now. We just need to make sure we are a little bit better during these type of games and keep on winning so called easier games.

"The referee, Anthony Taylor, got it right when he booked him and it would have been a really harsh red card"

Except that bit. A red would've been really harsh?

Salahs been getting a load of abuse lately about diving, yet nobody seems to mention Augero throwing himself to the floor untouched before his goal, waving his arms about looking for a penalty.

No complaints about the result overall, as I think City edged it. I really don't know what Klopp was thinking with that midfield though.

Come on Jurgen - you need to banish this formation....

I'd like to see Henderson on the bench from now on.

                  Fabinho first choice defensive midfielder.

Hopefully Oxlade and Keita can form the rest going forward.

What is really positive is that we can still make HUGE improvements:

                  1. Keita will surely find his feet. If not then he will be replaced in time.

Was annoyed last night but not too bad now & not hugely bothered we lost. They had to win, was like a cup final to them. City had intensity, work rate and desire that we didn't match. It is in ours hands now, pressure is on. We need to blitz teams in our next few league games. We are well capable of going on a run.

Take into consideration we just played probably the most difficult fixture in European football last night, they scraped the result, our big players didn't play well, Kompany should have had red card, we hit post & by some miracle Stones cleared that ball of the line. It really could have went either way and although Lovren & Trent were culpable... IMO the difference was the midfield. Bernardo & Fernandinho dominated. The trio of Gini/Hendo/Milly doesn't work anymore. Fabinho gave us more composure when he came on, he is so much more comfortable on the ball than the others who are more workmenlike. Also Fab looks to play the ball forward.

We really need Gomez & Matip back and asap. We need opinions and Gomez and VVD looked brilliant together for that period. I do think playing Shaq is essential to link to the forward line. There has to be some creativity in there as none of Gini/Hendo/Milly even break out from the midfield like say Ox would... we miss that terribly especially in games like last night where things are so compact and short. The balls up to Salah were shocking and he got bounced around by Kompany, Bobby and Mane were dropping too deep aswell to try get the ball.

The pressure is on & really excited to see what we do in the next league game. Don't give a **** about FA Cup but 2 losses on the bounce will be jumped all over by the press.

                        a line from August.

We are 4 points clear. I would have taken 4-5 points behind at this stage a few weeks ago, of our remaining 17 games we got 16 wins and a draw against those teams in the first half of the season.

City and Arsenal both done, Spurs and Chelsea come to Anfield, we go to United and Everton.

Tricky little aways like Leicester, Palace and Bournemouth are done.

Obviously I didn't want to lose yesterday but i'm slightly glad the unbeaten thing is dead, you don't win leagues drawing games to remain unbeaten, we need to win games. If its 1-1 with 10 mins left in any our of next five, Brighton, Palace, Leicester, West Ham, Bournemouth we should taking another 2 points off them rather than worrying conceding 1.

City have very little margin of error they'll probably need to win at least 15 of 17 to have a chance, whilst battling in all 3 cups. It will takes it tolls at some point, shame they have 3 byes at the moment.

We have the best manager and team in my lifetime, lets enjoy this lark

Blimey how the mighty has fallen. Behind the scenes in the city dressing room like they actual won a cup final. If we had won, no way would Klopp had allowed similar celebrations.

...feels a bit optimistic to think City will drop that many points from now until the end of Feb. Reckon they'll trip up against a lower team if any and hammer both Arsenal and Chelsea. The likes of Palace and West Ham for us have both been banana skins in previous seasons. Let's hope the Klopp can refocus and energise the troops for a long winning streak once again!
