13 games in 44 days is going to kill them at some point. Either that spell of Palace, Spurs, United or Leicester in-between the CL semi.

We will beat Newcastle away in the early kick off, Leciester beat City for us to win the title, Raheem begins to well up and Bredan comes over to him saying 'steady'.

Brendan gets to make it all about him, the beautiful ****.

I imagine he'd come into our dressing room to celebrate with his player.

He'd do his sky interview with 3 envelopes in his inside suit jacket pocket.

'At the start of season, I wrote down the names of 3 people who I thought would win Liverpool the title this season and i'm going to open them for you now.

The first envelope, me Brendan Rodgers.

The second envelope, my beautiful wife Charlotte.

The third envelope, oh its me again.'

And to top it all off, like a magician doing the big reveal, the 'self important one' produces an envelope from the inside pocket of his jacket...
                The crowd gasps...

Only to be met at the door by Gerard Houllier.

Many many things going our way right now. City's game in hand is United who is battling hard for a CL spot which is a tight race. United should be back to full strength by the time they play City.
City draw the toughest team for them other than us in the CL, Spurs
City will play a fully rested Fulham who by the looks of things are not as bad as the lg table would suggest after international week
After this next game ... City play every 4 days for an entire month with no easy games and Spurs 3 times in 10 days followed by a Derby away at United
There rescheduled game with Cardiff won't happen until May so They will be a game behind all month with there most difficult month of the season coming up and Pepe has not rotated very much this season, I'd be amazed if they come through this timetable unscathed
We on the other hand play Spurs at home, with their manager serving a touchline ban and Spurs in Indifferent form, we beat them and not only do we lay down a huge marker in the title race, ramp up the pressure, we throw Spurs firmly into the dog fight for top four
We draw Porto in the CL making life a little easier for us
We play our game against Chelsea at home after they play away in Europe on a Thursday night
We Play Wolves at home potentially they week before the FA Cup final for the and you cannot tell me the manager or the at the very least the players will have one eye firmly on a once in a life time FA Cup final
Our two games before that last game are against Rafas Newcastle who hopefully will be safe by then and Jurgens mates old stomping ground Huddersfield who are already relegated.
Every game is important now but sweet baby Jesus if we can beat Spurs at home next it will put a ridiculous amount of pressure on City going into their month from Hell

                      Its ****ing on !!!!

                            Tommy Conlon

                            March 17 2019 5:00 PM

When the Premier League begins in August, the finish line is so far away that it is barely visible on the western horizon. Twenty teams line up as in a cross-country gallop, with oceans of time and space ahead of them. After Christmas the narrowing begins. And now in mid-March they are herded into a tightening chute, the leaders up front and the field strung out behind them with the rear-enders scrambling to avoid the trap door beneath them.

Every team bar Chelsea and Brighton have eight Premier League games left to play. At the top it has become a two-horse race. In a fortnight's time, Manchester City and Liverpool will be poised at the entrance to the April funnel. By then, Liverpool could be first into the breach.

Starting today against Fulham, the challengers have two Premier League games left in March, one either side of the upcoming international break. The champions were yesterday playing Swansea City in an FA Cup quarter-final. After international duty, City will re-assemble for an away game, also against Fulham, in the league on March 30. On March 31, Liverpool will be at home to Tottenham Hotspur. Six points from Fulham and Spurs would put them back on top heading into April.

And this is where the fun will really begin. At the time of writing, City are scheduled to play seven games in April/May, Liverpool six. Their destiny in the Premier League may well be complicated by events in Europe. On Friday the draw for the Champions League quarter-finals was made and it was Liverpool who emerged smelling of roses. The usual caveats apply, but they were handed the plum: rank outsiders FC Porto. It could have been worse for City, they might have been paired with Manchester United, but it could have been better too. They will now have to play Spurs on April 9 and April 17 in the Champions League and on April 20 in the Premier League. Then, for good measure, they will face United at Old Trafford on April 24.

"It is what it is," shrugged Pep Guardiola on Friday, trying to downplay the implications of a trilogy, over 11 days, with the third best team in England. City's head coach said his biggest worry was getting all his players back fit from international duty and ready to contribute to the big push over the last six weeks of the season.

But if the Manchester derby is guaranteed to be a ferocious affair, the showdowns with Tottenham are also bound to drain some power from City's formidable battery.

Every manager frets about the potential damage waiting to be done to key players whilst away competing for their national teams. But generally they prefer to play European teams in Europe rather than having to renew a domestic rivalry on the continental stage too. There is the mutual familiarity and the battle for bragging rights that have a habit of bringing an edge to proceedings - and often some collateral injury damage to various players. What should be a cosmopolitan occasion becomes a provincial bonfire, with more emotion than sophistication. It has a levelling effect between squads that are otherwise separated by a substantial gulf in class. Three games in 11 days might have the players wondering which ones are in Europe and which one is merely in the league.

And the side that prevail over the two legs, will they then have the resilience to do it all over again four days later? Or will the comedown leave them a bit flat emotionally? City will have the Champions League second leg and the Premier League clash both at home. Maybe this is the marginal gain that will bring them through in both competitions. And after all that, they will have four days to recover for the trip to Old Trafford. All told, it will be a 15-day trial by fire for the champions.

It is unlikely they will come through it all unscathed. There will probably be consequences in terms of dropped points and on-field casualties. It depends on the quantity, but even Guardiola's extravagant squad will be stretched by these circumstances. Obviously there is no doubting their luxuriant technical gifts; but April will provide a gruelling test of their mettle.

Therefore, the door remains ajar for Liverpool. Their mettle has not been bombproof over the last six weeks. But they showed plenty of it away to Bayern Munich last Wednesday. They did not play particularly well but they competed very well; it was a mentally strong, mature performance. Maybe the wobble is over. Whether it is or not, they need to be disposing of Fulham today without much fuss.

They will have a fortnight then before they face Spurs at Anfield. Jürgen Klopp, no less than Guardiola, will be fretting over despatches from the international arena during the next eight or nine days. The Liverpool manager clearly has less room for manoeuvre on this front. But he and his squad are facing into a less daunting April than their title rivals - on paper at least. In reality, they need all the help they can get because nerves are raw everywhere on the red part of Merseyside. Three of their Premier League games next month will be against teams in the bottom five of the table at time of writing. But even these fixtures will be generating palpitations among Liverpool fans until they are safely negotiated. If they are safely negotiated: nothing can be taken for granted at this stage. But there will be no excuses left if they don't.

By the end of April we should have a good idea who will be the champions elect for 2018/19. But even then there could still be a sting in the tail. It might even be May before the smoke clears on this particular horizon.

I don't see us winning at Southampton or Newcastle as guarantees. Unless we finally find some form.
