From an Everton fan. They really are a small time club

"If United beat us then they may rest players for the City game in order to stay fresh for Chelsea which could be the decider for the top 4. If we beat them then they probably need to beat City and Chelsea to make the top 4 and save their season (presuming they’ll be out of the CL). Therefore please take us gently United and then allow yourselves to be taken hard by City."

Lol ... I don't think their Manager will be thinking that, he will want to get out of that ****hole as quickly as possible

I've commented on this twice today. I don't see how chelsea vs united is seen as a play off for forth. United have an easy run in after that game but they'll almost be certainly be 3points adrift of the top four with three to play. Good luck to them if they buy into this strategy.

I'm not surprised Everton fans are hoping that, and if Man Utd are desperate for us to not win the league and are happy to sacrifice 3 points good for them, but I think that they will struggle to find themselves in the CL next season. Looking at the table i'd see 75 points probably the minimum required to get 4th (That would mean Spurs need 8/15 pts to get to that mark, Arsenal 9/15 Chelsea 9/12 and Man Utd 11/15). If United lose to City they can't afford any slip up in their other 4 games.

I don't see the Man Utd Chelsea game as a top 4 play off it'seems an eliminator, whoever loses is probably finishing 6th.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Yeah, I'm just thankful they decided to give Ole his contract when they did.

Brighton to win on the last day against City, saving themselves and giving us the title!

Odds on that? Slightly high I imagine

Just looked at Brighton's remaining fixtures and if I was a fan I would be extremely worried about the possibility of going down. They are currently 2 points ahead of Cardiff with a game in hand.

                  Wolves (a) - 20/4/19
                  Spurs (a) - 23/4/19
                  Newcastle (h) - 27/4/19
                  Arsenal (a) - 4/5/19
                  Man City (h) - 12/5/19

They are going to have to get something from the City game to stay up imo.

BHA will get relegated, 2 wins since xmas & not scoring goals, they are in deep mire & free falling. Players have no belief & hughton is out of his depth massively. Cardiff will get points against Palace & Fulham to send BHA down

Wowsers, Brighton are only getting 2-4 points max out of that lot. Cardiff don't even need any points from us, we're a free hit for them.

This is actually a very, very good point, but I agree with Vlahka, Spurs without Kane are probably more of a threat now, Son and Moura upfront can be very tricky on their day.
                          * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Aye, brings a lot of unpredictability to their play alright.

Must be galling for any player to see their team playing better when you are absent from the team knowing that you are not needed in a hurry.
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

They have City losing one and drawing one

This Kane argument reminds me of when people tried to claim we were better without Gerrard in the team. Yes, results maybe be better when they didn't play (because of the small sample size) and yes other players may have upped their game in their absence, but for me both teams are only at their best when they have their star player playing and playing well.

If this match was 3 weeks ago, I might have been happy that Kane was injured as he was struggling a bit, but he was just finding form and I'd have fancied him to score against City.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
