Wolves 76 is one of my earliest football memories - listening on my portable radio with an ear piece so the folks couldn't hear when I was supposed to be asleep.

It was goal average in those days rather than goal difference which meant it was nowhere nearly as simple as win lose or draw because certain score lines which on the face of it were positive actually weren't in practice. So the whole process was even more tense because aged precisely sod all there was no way I could work out which scores were ok and which weren't.

Loads of scousers were locked out of that game that day, Phil Thompson asked Paisley if he could open the dressing room exit to let in a couple of his family who haven't got tickets and they can make their way to stand, no fuss. Paisley agreed and he opens the door and about 40-50 come rushing through whilst the players were getting ready.

Bob remarked to Phil that he has a very big family and we go and win the title.

I always assumed the 74 in your username was the year you were born. Although thinking about it, that would mean you tried to sign up to Est only to find there were already 5 or 6 Cormacks registered

There’s nothing in this for Burnley and Chelsea need the points.

They did need a point mathematically. But they weren’t really in trouble no way are all the teams below them going on mad winning runs. They’ll give City a game.
