Transfer from Manchester airport to Liverpool

Howdy - not sure where to put this so here will do

I'm going to the derby on the 1st Dec and am flying into Manchester airport late the night before (23.30). Any tips on what is a reliable and fair priced company to arrange a taxi to Liverpool or any other suggestions?

    Cheers.

Think you will be just too late to make the train. Think it leaves Manchester around 23:45 but maybe check the train times in case I am wrong on that one.

Think there might be a coach service from the airport to Liverpool similar to the Eireagle and Dublin coach services that run in your own neck of the woods over here in Ireland. Not sure of the coach companies name but maybe check with the airport's information services and get yourself prebooked if that coach service is still there. Would be a lot cheaper than a taxi.

Cheers - did the Train check as a first pass and too late to get that. Have done taxis previously but don't want to be ripped off if possible. Only 2 of us and normally a bigger group so someone else usually books a mini-bus.

Am looking at the airport website for a bus now also.

What about staying overnight in Manchester ( as if you go the Liverpool after the flight you would still be needing to stay somewhere for the night anyway)and getting the 8:40 bus from the airport the next morning? You would arrive at Liverpool One at 09:45 and the bus at that time works out at about 7 euro per person.

Cheers - will ping them a mail, am happy to pay for a taxi but I want to book one that will turn up and not absolutely fleece me. Some of the airport taxis are an absolute rip off.

Am assuming you are flying from Shannon. But what about flying from Cork instead?

I usually go to Liverpool from Cork and then come back to Cork from either Liverpool or Manchester.

Just checked on of the travel sites and there is a flight from Cork at 08:20 on the day of the match and a flight back to Cork from Manchester at 09:00 the following morning.

Ya flight from Shannon - return cost of €40 paid so a bargain. I’ve a few contacts on the ticket front so a pair in the Kop face value and it makes the trip cheap.

40 quid to Manchester and back is a pretty great price to be fair.

Mad to think that an ordinary return train ticket from Limerick to Dublin or Cork to Dublin would cost more than it costs to fly between Ireland and England and back.

And because I wasn’t sure if the game would be late Sunday I booked a flight from Liverpool to Dublin on the Monday morning - that cost €27! Ryanair can be great if you book early and follow the rules.

So long as they don't cancel the flight a couple of weeks before.
