Speaks volumes of how we are progressing under Klopp when an away draw against a very much in form Arsenal feels like a loss.

It was a difficult game, and one we could have lost, we had the better chances VVD could have had a hat trick. But we weren't at our best anywhere on the pitch so maybe a draw was a fair result. What annoyed me though was the officiating, the disallowed goal was a joke of a decision, and ultimately cost us 2 points, which could prove enormous at the end of the season. It wasn't just that decision though we got very little from the officials all game. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

****ing hellOriginally posted by frank the tank View PostWe ain't winning the league.....I thought we had a good chance but don't think so now. When you are winning then you need to win
There is along way to go, plenty can still happen. We are top of the League and have put ourselves in contention. Not lost a game after 11, it’s been an amazing start and we have played half of the contenders away already.
Typically we finish the season strong.
Enjoy the ride, we’ve got a good chance, why give up belief now? It is totally random.Modifying post.

Arsenal have been very good and they were at home with an excellent attack, Özil, Laca and Auba are on their day as good as it gets. I thought we were good at the back and by the end of the day, they needed some luck from the referee.
Before the game I'd have taken a draw so I'll be content with that, despite us being top we are managing through some difficulties, Fab and Keita are adjusting, Lallana injured or lacking fitness as usual and Hendo out. Fab would never have started this one if Hendo was fit. So for us to get a point away at Arsenal, out of form and with an out of sorts midfield is decent enough. Hope Bobby starts to shine again though.
Love this season.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Our hope is that they are enjoying their best form now, maybe they'll tail off during the second half of the season, Emery is yet to taste the mid-season, games coming thick and fast and fatigue will set in him for him like it did for us in Klopp's first full season.Originally posted by foresterbloke View PostTrouble is, it's hard to see City falling to any team again this season. They're so strong and seemingly forever in form.
I hope FFP dock them points!* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Christmas will be a real test for these teams. Hopefully we can use our squad to better effect than the likes of Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal.Originally posted by The_weatherman View PostOur hope is that they are enjoying their best form now, maybe they'll tail off during the second half of the season, Emery is yet to taste the mid-season, games coming thick and fast and fatigue will set in him for him like it did for us in Klopp's first full season. Was muß, das muß.

So we're almost certainly going to need to acrue around 90 points to win the league, maybe even 100
That's a bit of a stretch to say we'll do that given it'd be unprecedented for us, so nothing random in saying we're unlikely to. Personally I'm just enjoying the ride and if we're still in contention with ten games to go then I'll entertain title talk.
We need to improve though.

Being in contention, as you say, is the important thing. Too often we’ve been out if after 12-15 matches. We need to be in contention in January. And we have to deal with the stress that that brings. Stopping our rivals from getting 3 points is an important aspect of draws. But we need all our players to get fit and to improve. We haven’t clicked yet, but we’re top. Happy days.

It’s not unproportional to say it’s to early to say ‘we are not going to win the league’?Originally posted by labourRed View PostThat's an unproportional response.

Equally, If we keep playing like we are it will be tough ask for themOriginally posted by Fredo View PostI don't think we're good enough yet to win the league. So maybe all we need to do is tamper down our expectations. If we finish second and win a trophy, it will be an excellent season. For the league, if City and Chelsea keep playitlike they are, it will be a tough ask IMO.
It’s never going to be easy winning the League, it will come down at times to attitude. I think the squad believe they can do it. Will they? **** knows. I reckon we will run whoever isn’t near the top close, and will be in with a chance oirselves? Why not?Modifying post.
