Liverpool vs Crystal Palace - Premier League (18/19 - Game 23)
I've decided that at some point using arms has become legal in the penalty box. How else can you explain the amount of handballs that have come our way and not been penalties?
Palace even got a FK for that incident.... Although from that angle, the picture kind of looks like Mane is also handling it, so perhaps that's what the ref saw?
If both arms are clearly up it's difficult to give a penalty as both players could have used their arms or on could be lifting the others, giving a FK to the defending side is the 'safe' option for a ref, that or just letting it go. Really need to see the video rather than a still, but I'm not surprised it wasn't given.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I think its just the picture breaking a little during the stream pause. Defenders arm was definitely above his. But one has to ask, why is his arm even in that area to begin with. His head is a clear arm distance away.
**** off sky, interviewing Salah and just before going to him say he should have had a booking for a dive in the first half. There seems to be a growing agenda about this in the press for Salah.
It's certainly an agenda, but he could help his case by not diving in the first half.
Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom- 2 years1year 0.5 years
Up until the last few games he has been lauded for always staying on his feet, even when being blatantly raked from behind, more than once at times.
I just think, give the guy a break, don't blow **** out of all proportion labelling him a cheat and diver like it's always been a big part of his game, that agenda cannot be allowed to take hold.
For me that is one of the ones that is in the grey area, there is contact and he makes the most of it, I don't like players going down under minimal contact, and it wasn't a penalty. But for me it's not a dive either, because a dive is either no contact or the attacking player initiating the contact (by dragging a leg).
MOTD giving it alot more coverage that Vardy's no contact throwing himself to the floor last weekend, which was a blatant dive.

What I don't like is the way they are starting to talk every game about the "dark side" of Salah as it was put, and he is being painted as a serial diver, yet it is taken as acceptable or clever when others are more blatant in trying to win a peno.
If they want to highlight Salah, then the exact same should be done for any player that does so and those that do it game in game out should be getting a hell of a lot of attention.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Case in point now on MOTD. Arsenal when a soft free kick and the commentator is saying that the defending player was silly to make the minimal contact that allowed the attacker to make the most of it. But no criticism of the attacker going down.
Yet Salah is a diver for doing the same thing.
Double standards.

Shearer on about how Mo felt contact and then went down. Saying it was a clear dive.
Funny how Harry Kane gets lauded for going down when he anticipates contact yet Mo gets slammed for going down when he feels actual contact.
Shearer said Kane dived against Wolves on MOTD a few weeks ago. He said he was already going down before any slight contact and deserved the booking. Murphy disagreed with him.
