    Incident on Saturday

I couldn't make it to the game at the weekend, but a very good friend of mine (who I was planning on attending with) went. Took his 2 kids for the first time and this happened.

Im gutted for his kids - I remember taking both my kids for their first games and they still talk about the experience today.

Glad the local press, police and fan groups have come out and supported him - Im sure the Club will take a similar public stance on the matter too.

No place for this at my club

Gob****e, unfortunately, every club has them. The Club, the police and the surrounding fans dealt with him perfectly.

Can you tell your friend to let his kids know that this isn't truly representative of the fan base. I am Irish and I am embarrassed by that guy's behaviour.

I have two small kids and I long for the day to bring them to see Liverpool play and I can imagine how distraught and confused they must have been by this.

I truly hope that they can forget this as it should have been a live changing day in the positive sense rather than how it turned out. If would be great if the club could reach out to them and make some form of gesture to try and make them forget it.

An absolute scumbag ****** who deserves jail time for that.

Would be nice if the club stepped in and sorted the family out with tickets and hospitality for a game.

Should be formative memories for a family and this racist prick has ruined it for them. Hopefully the club do the right thing by them.
                  Modifying post.

                    Gutted for them.

I really hope people shouted this prick down rather than just suggesting he be ignored. All too often people just don't like intervening. From personal experience (although as an adult who wouldn't have had the same fear factor these children would) I've found that quiet acceptance to be as upsetting as the abuse itself.

Would be great if they could give them something really positive to remember, and show that contrary to this scumbag's views, they are embraced by the club just as any supporter would be.

It was totally out of character...

My question is how many pints does it take to turn a nonracist into a racist?

                        8?

                          Sounds like a confession.

                          And the answer is 0.
                          Oh I don't know.

Well, that was his excuse. I cannot fathom how anyone can behave like that.

I think if someone drinks and does that it actually makes it worse.
