Probably linked to the fact that every team we've faced has fought like a cup final all season whereas City have had teams bend over for them most of the season.

Glad we won, and glad it was a dive and a deflected header for the winner. Has really pissed people off and if no one is behind us other than us, that makes it a little sweeter. I like Rafa but if we'd lost last night the rose tinted specs would have been smashed for a lot of people
Cause it is, he works for someone else and he has to perform. Last home game of the season and he says nah, give them a gimme in front of 50k home fans?

I'd expect nothing less from Rafa, the man has too much integrity.

Of course he tried to win, he’s a professional being paid a huge sum by a club he clearly loves. Do you honestly think he should’ve just rolled over for us? They beat City in the corresponding tie... if they hadn’t then the title race would already be over.
No you shut up you big stupid head.

Possibly other than Klopp, Rafa is the best thing that has happened to Liverpool in the past 30 or so years, possibly more. Really put us back on the map properly and if it wasn't for draws against Stoke and Ngog as a backup striker, we would have won the league that season. We had the best team by a country mile.

You expect a professional to line up his team and say 'Lads, these are close to my heart, don't try hard and roll over for them' and still be credible?

Jesus, I'm pretty sure next week we're going to be hearing that Dalglish is a cunt and Fowler wants City to win the title because he played there. Very short memories.

While I'm at it, the conspiracy theorist going on about the world being against us is getting quite over the top too. If Man City got that free kick which Fabinho won, there would have been riots on here. Maybe there's some validity to it, maybe not, but it's so ****ing tiring. It's out of our control and has become so tedious.
          I don't believe you.

needed to be done and thankfully they didn't have Messi in their team.

                  My sentiments entirely
Rafa loves our club, he loves our supporters and made the city his home, but first and foremost he is a professional and it's his professionalism that helped him achieve the successes he did with us and helped him cope with the thieving SCUMBAG owners whilst doing it.

Hope we relegate them next season in a game that means nothing to us

**** that. Rafa gave City 2 tough games this season and took points off them. Let the managers who fielded weakened teams and rolled over for them get relegated.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I’d be embarrassed of Newcastle didn’t give us a good game last night, they are an improving team with a great manager. They went for it and we still won. I think the level we are playing at just now is phenomenal, it’s going to be depressing reading the inevitable negativity and criticism on here if we don’t win the league.
