That's my biggest worry, Germany are already talking about voiding and not declaring a winner. Makes sense as Bayern are only 5 points ahead of second. Hope other countries push for a champion, e.g. Juventus and Psg who are usually dominant teams by this stage.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostSurely it isn't just down to the PL and the EFL, it makes sense to be consistent with what happens in the rest of Europe as there needs to be alignment of the leagues. There is no point in voiding the league if the rest of Europe are going to delay the start of next season so this one can be finished. One tit for another.

There's a great argument for stopping it for a whole year and resuming it this time next year exactly where we are. In the interim if things improve then reevaluate or create some cup comps but this season has to be resolved before the next one begins.Originally posted by BootRoom View PostWe could just pick the season back up again in the new year; finish the league programme, fa cup and euro comps, fill out the schedule with League Cup fixtures, and the (euro) players will be well rested for Euro 2021.
Imagine being champions for the 2019/21 season

Juve and PSG won't care as they've won it so many times in the pastOriginally posted by BigChief View PostThat's my biggest worry, Germany are already talking about voiding and not declaring a winner. Originally posted by Kenneth View PostThe season needs to be finished. We shouldn’t be awarded it until it’s won, nobody should be relegated until it’s lost. Sorry, didn't see this before posting something similar. Suspend all league for 12 months, end it same time next season

Great post- there’s so much up in the air if they void the season.. how do they divide prize money, who gets relegated if anyone, who gets into Europe, who gets promoted if anyone, tv money, sponsorship money, season ticket holders, etc etc..
I wish they’d come out and state that it will continue, once we are able to, whenever that will be. I hope we don’t have this anxiety of wondering what will happen, for months...I don't tip

Continuing or voiding are the only 2 options.Originally posted by BigChief View PostThat's my biggest worry, Germany are already talking about voiding and not declaring a winner. Voiding opens alot of big cans of worms. People have paid through tickets TV packages etc for alot of games that are retrospectively reduced to a load of meaningless friendlies and will have negative effects on future subscribers for TV packages. The broadcasters have paid alot of money for these rights, there are sponsorship deals where companies are not getting the exposure that they have paid for. Clubs such as us could claim we have lost revenue by not getting the title, similarly clubs like Leeds could arguably suffer larger losses by not making the PL. There are alot of potential legal issues, these would be easier to be resolved if the league were finished and next season was delayed (or cancelled instead). To me this makes sense, but the footballing authorities don't always behave sensibly. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Yep. This is the fair and sporting thing to do. Just pause and resume when it’s suitable to do so.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostThe season needs to be finished. It may also be an opportunity to turn it in to a positive by aligning domestic league calendars with the upcoming World Cup.
I can’t see any justification for scrapping seasons that are 75% done..

Yeah this too. Be decisive, put everyone’s mind at rest over how titles, European places, relegations and promotions will be resolved. And shut Karen Brady up.Originally posted by Mr Pink View PostGreat post- there’s so much up in the air if they void the season.. how do they divide prize money, who gets relegated if anyone, who gets into Europe, who gets promoted if anyone, tv money, sponsorship money, season ticket holders, etc etc..
