6 easy points just got a hell of a lot more complicated and such is our position at the top he'll clearly go all out to stop us like he did v Leicester last season.

Don’t lose vs Brighton and we equal our all time unbeaten league record.....we can the top it at home vs The Ev.......who if memory serves me right stopped us last time (1-0 Sharp?).
It’s Atkinson that worries me but so much focus on his recent cluster****s bs us might actually get him on side......who knows. If we do the business on the pitch then we won’t need to worry about the officials

We don't normally get Mike Dean as he is from the Wirral, I can't even remember a game he refereed when we played, not sure how it will play out. Atkinson on the other hand has been beyond inept in our games, a real worry.Originally posted by Shaggy View Post****ing Atkinson for Brighton on Sat, and then Mike Dean for the derby. Wtf?

Must be some weird logic where a team would complain if he reffed them against us with him being so close geographically to us. But then look at Taylor and the Manc clubs.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostApparently he did the Mane 90+4 derby and he is only allowed to ref us or Everton in a derby. I just don't understand that - he's either ok to ref our games or he isn't, surely.
No complaints when we are both close?

He’s gone at the end of the season apparently, huge boost for us though a bit late if he’s played a part in screwing us out of two titles by then but yes, no more of him after this season thank ****.Originally posted by dom9 View PostI wish Martin Atkinson would go and break a leg or something. Like bad enough for him to be retired.
He must be close to retirement age by now surely?

I'm doubtful he can be retired per se on the grounds of age but there may be a short contractual basis under which refs operate with no automatic guarantee of renewal. Anyway according to Wiki he's 48 FWIW.

Yeah, they do. Once they hit the retirement age, they're out from the next season.Originally posted by Cormack74 View PostI'm doubtful he can be retired per se on the grounds of age but there may be a short contractual basis under which refs operate with no automatic guarantee of renewal. It doesn't make sense at all. Objective measurements that relate to the ability to perform the job makes sense. Someone 48 can be fitter and have better perception than someone else at 38 or even 28. An arbitrary age limit is just that, arbitrary. And illegal.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years
